Got to the gym yesterday for heavy Olympic lifting amd front squat day and felt pretty good. Until I started to warmup. Everything felt heavy, muscles were stiff and sore but kept pushing. My second warmup set on FS at 225 felt like a ton of bricks. I was like fuck, another wasted leg day. So I decided I’ll just keep adding 10’s to the bar. Long story short I finished at 335x2. Not bad, no record but not a wasted day. Move into clean amd jerk. This was a shit show. Hit all my warmup numbers until 225 could not jerk that to save my life. So cut my losses and moved onto lunges, RDL’s etc to finish my leg day. Point of this was, some days you are the hammer and some days you are the nail. Listen to your body and don’t get frustrated when you have an off day. Find the silver lining. For me it was still hitting 335 for a double.

I totally agree today was kinda the same for me. Today was deadlift day. Every warm up set felt heavy and on the last one I scrape the heck out my shin on the way down drew blood and almost walked out the gym. Instead I sat on a bench for 5 mins drank some orange juice stood up felt my pre kick in to second gear. Hit 315 for 10 and decided to Finally capture my PR of 405. Had a staring contest with a blond on a thigh master the entire lift (can’t say it didn’t help) but I’m with you brother some days are not a PR day and some days you just might surprise yourself and maybe a couple onlookers lol. The only way you lose is if your stop grinding. Great post!

Check that once. Have someone shine a light in your eye and if your pupil won’t stay shut, like it pulses like it’s trying to get bigger. Than your cns is shutting you down. I learned that here I forgot who it was. But it happened to me last summer. They told me to relax as in go fishing or something. For two days minimum. I did and I mean I was just useless feeling doing nothing. On the third day I hit the gym and everything went up. It was awesome.

I’ve not heard of that but I’ll check it out. Any literature out there that you know of?

Today felt like a PR day even though I was at my weakest in a while. First day gym has opened back up since November. Felt so good just to be back. Home workouts with bands were getting real old haha

I have those days about once every week or two. Mine was Monday on chest. Granted, I’ve just been back in the gym for 3/4 weeks, but gaining strength back in a big way between workouts. Except for Monday, 225 on incline felt like 315… started getting pain in my wrist and decided to work through it figuring it was just the fat lazy shit getting out of my system. Lol… that was incorrect, and two days later that bastard is still a pain. All good though, got back in today and hitting OHP with 95’s. (4x6). Sometimes a day off goes a long way…

I don’t. I was just feeling like I hit a wall and I found. Here it is. It was siggy.
Everything heals faster, but you will never safely get around rest brother. Adrenal fatigue is up in debate but central nervous system fatigue isn’t, its real and it makes you feel like crap. If you got someone handy get a flashlight and let them shine it in your eye. If the pupil won’t stay small then thats your nervous system telling you im fried. In that case you need to deload for a bit. The cns is where the power comes from.
