You completely left out of your notes the WHY of “failing” schools. And it’s the funding. As we already discussed, schools are not funded equitably already. So what you’re proposing would worsen the problem intentionally. Also, for the record, I don’t think parents should have much of ANY say on what their children are taught. What a lot of people really want to do is schools to indoctrinate their kids for them. That’s why people are so upset about schools having books that include LGBTQ people in their library (and so are banning books in droves) or teaching for example AP Psychology — because guess what — treatments for things like body dysphoria and other mental illness includes the recognition of the need for transitioning in some people. Heaven forbid we teach our kids real science instead of politicized hogwash like creationism.

Its not funding. Many countries have the same funding for their kids and they do much better. Yeah Hitler thought the same and didnt think parents had any right to what their kids were taught. Same as Mao and Stalin.

Thats exactly the reason why the system is failing

As i posted earlier, US spends the same as Ireland and Poland which are ranked number 8 and 9. And more then rank 1, 2, and 4. China. Singapore and Japan. So democrats that control the educational system cant blame this on funding. Thier failure is their system they dont want to take accountability for.

Another amazing thing is how the Unions claim they dont get enough yet those Unions take so much from the teachers in Union dues they can donate millions to democrat politicians. In fact they donate 98% of their donations to Democrats. They are a failure.

That’s so far away from the truth. Sans the small percentage of junkies/crackheads/alcoholics in my area that use schools as a daycare to “get rid of their kids”… lots of parents are very much involved in their childs education and feel like i do… “teach the basics” leave the social issues religion out of it.

I can go on… I put in a lot of research into the decline and subsequent bankruptcy of Detroit (my hometown). It was once a shining jewel of prosperity for all races. Poor school districts are a cause and effect.

For some reason mayor colman young was very hard on street crime but turned a blind eye to corporate/government crime.

In the late 60’s through the 70’s… white flight occurred along with the lesser documented black middle class leaving Detroit for the burbs. That was the owned and operated “black progressive utopia” some groups were striving for. The street level criminals didn’t leave. Lots of the government officials were very corrupt leading to long prison terms. When Detroit finally failed and a team of appointed lawyers took over the city…the publicized results were dismal. Two things relevant to this discussion were uncovered. Only 40% of residents were paying taxes… the school administrators were ripping off the school system wholesale. They went to prison too. There we’re basically two classes left… the progressive elites living in gated communities and the poor.
