One thing after another!

After rehabbing my elbow the past few months I finally got it back to 100% last week. While walking to class in the rain I slipped on a grate and rolled my ankle. I didn’t think anything of it but it got worse throughout the weekend. This evening I found out I have a grade 3 sprain and some soft tissue damage in the medial ligament. I will now be in a boot for at least a month and may need surgery, so again I will be altering my workout. LOL… All I want to do is workout without any limitations! Unfortunately the elbow ended up being an underlying issue and this was just shitty luck… So again I just need to stay positive and keep getting at it… I have seen some great results from a positive attitude and a perfect diet. Thank you everyone who has been posting their logs and progress, it keeps me motivated and helps me add little things here and there which has been extremely helpful the past few months.

take your time with that ankle. once you start spraining and breaking them they are prone to rolling more. shit hurts so bad, wish you a speedy recovery.

Man I feel for you 😦 do what you gotta do to give it plenty of rest and recover to your fullest. Do your best you can to workout around it like you said. Adversity builds character. You’ll come back stronger.

I with you my friend. Two years ago I broke a bone in my right foot and needed surgery and screw put in for proper healing. I did have some slight limitations after rehab due getting used to the screw and on occasion would have some episodes of discomfort. Only about a year did I get really back on track with my training and was back to where I was prebreak. Now, just a most ago I broke the same bone in my left foot…had to have surgery again and I will be going through the entire process again. Right now I am at 6weeks non-weight bearing. This completely sucks.

But ya know we really should not complain. Their are people in this would who have far worse condition than us. When you think about it what is 4 month compare to someone who has MS, or mentally challeged…they have that condition for their entire life. So I not so bad after all.

Damn injuries are the worst.
I wish you the best and take physical therapy serious because it really means alot on how you recover.
Best of luck brother

You bet. Hang in there brotha. I wish you the best in your recovery.

Just on a side note. I was able to get out and have lunch nearby today. I sat in the bar area and there was one other person sitting there. We talked a little and he brought up the cast on my leg. Long story short…he encouraged me to stay strong and keep a positive mental attitude and gave me his perspective that everything happens for a reason. The challenge is how you respond to the situation dictates how much stronger you will be in the end.

Then when I went to pay for my meal I talked with the bartender as well. I see her every so often and she echoed the same sentiments and said my lunch was on the house today.

It was real encouraging to hear this. I was humbled. Maybe I should eat out more often…lol.
