Pondering ever increasing competition records

Watching all these videos about all these people who are constantly pushing the limits of strength and breaking records. Is it just genetics? Are more people being attracted to the sport so just by law of average you keep getting people with a higher genetic capacity? Is it science? (training techniques, gear cycles, nutrition, etc)

Body building and strongman has evolved as a sport and I think that definitely brings on the likes of all different kinds of competitors. Especially those that realize their genetic potential just based on history alone. Look at the Germanic regions and Scandinavian Peninsula. They have a long history of being just ridiculously strong through their evolution as a people just based on region alone. Add in the science behind nutrition and alterations in training styles, some Dbol and a strong will to compete and you’ve got a near perfect specimen for strength and shear will.

I’d say it is a combination of all those things. If you really look at the changes in nutrition and refining of training/cycles etc you’ll see differences. there is a huge movement away from eating everything and the kitchen sink towards eating for performance … it makes a difference
