To better prepare for what type of bar I’ll be using at comp. they have a oly bars here but I want to be take out as many variable as possible in training

Some of those bars can be pricey.

Heck I don’t even know what is used these days.

I like the Texas power bar. Good all around training bar.

@JB_rD81 will know

I have to say, I like the cliff bar protein. Good energy. Good to eat to keep your energy levels up. And great for power meets. But people tell me they aren’t that good. But you know what? I like them and what they do for me. 😬

I’m partial to Ohio hahah. But seriously I’ll shoot director email asking. Look I work the ot to buy shit and if I can make my gym better for everybody at same time why not. Maybe check boneyard

You don’t want a true oly bar if you are going to be powerlifting. They spin too easily and often will rotate out of your hand

Oly could be new brand of protein hahah. I will need
Food along with my Abomb’s mtren and halo for meet haha

Yep I sent email asking bar they will be using I use a different bar for bench currently but it’s a fatter grip so will probably switch over on that as well. If know the gym let’s people purchase bars and leave them here for use will even store them. I would let other use them as nobody but me slides stupid wifht to bend them or anything

I would go with an Ohio Bar. They’re rigid, have no break when you deadlift, and just an all around good bar for any training. When you do pull with a deadlift bar after pulling with an Ohio Bar, you’ll notice a HUGE difference, as depending on how worn the bar is, you’ll have the bar to your knees before the weight is even off the ground.

Keep benching with your fatter grip bar, that will help you too as when you grab the bench bar at the meet, you’ll feel how small it is and the mental game will take over.

Do they even make the texas bars anymore? Mine is every bit of 15 years old.

Yes they do! They’re a good bar, my buddy who’s gym I go to has a couple of them, along with Ohio bars.

I always liked Mastodon bars for squats

At the rate I’m going with my “non-weight “ that Texas bar will last forever. Hahaha

Of course there’s always a chance I’ll buy a new bar just cuz…
