Past few years struggled with snoring. About 2 years before i met my wife. I’ve heard every excuse from the docs. Some blaming on size, others on breathing passages. They wanted me on a cpap machine. I recently went to an allergy therapist that said it was allergies even tho I tested negative for all allergies. She told me a lot of people are suffering from unknown allergies usually caused by air sprays, cleaning chemicals etc. She took a scope and showed me where one side was inflamed and said when I lie down that side will close more and cause me to snore.

She prescribed Nasonex in morning and instantly it stopped. A few weeks later returned. I decided to instead of using in morning to take it before bed after I shower at night. So far nothing. My wife and daughter said it’s as silent as can be at night and they have to check to make sure I’m still alive.

Anyways I thought I’d share that in case some of you all have problems snoring and didn’t know why. Maybe go to a specialist in allergies and have them check or get ahold of a good allergy nasal spray and try before bed.

Definitely try it bro. It’s a night and day difference for me. People would complain they couldn’t sleep with how loud I was at night. Now nothing. And just a couple sprays before bed and breathe easier all night long.

I think the morning is bad cause didn’t need it during day and wore off by nighttime. Taking before bed is perfect.

That’s how it started for me. When I was drinking. Then gradually more and more often and worse and worse. My wife as nice as can be never complained but acknowledged it was bad. When my daughter was born it would wake her up sometimes. Not too long ago I slept on the couch for months so wouldn’t wake anyone.

Mix up your steroid nasal sprays about every 6 months. Even though they’re all in same drug class, it’s good to mix them up to help prevent resistance to that branded chemical of steroid. Nasonex now, Flonase 6 months down road, etc…

Another doc had prescribed be a different one when I told them the other wasn’t lasting as long. I wanted to split the dosage to two a day but for some reason he was against it. I’ll have to find it and try that one again when i need to. I just thought it left a bad taste in my throat so didn’t take it. But if it works for nighttime I have about 6 months worth of that shit sitting somewhere. These docs prescribe everything in 3 month or more scripts and you have 30 days to buy it all or lose it.

Meds are wayyyy cheaper then states tho. Even without government insurance. It’s very rare 3 boxes runs me over $30.

That other spray was dymista. @BBSQ5 good?

What sucks is you end up with large boxes of meds you no longer need or just didnt work for you. I have one of those large storage totes just filled with meds not including our medicine cabinet. My wife didn’t understand I threw out a few boxes of a pain killer but it doesn’t work for me and she would never use it. No point in keeping it when I have other things that work better.

That’s a plus. I’m spending over $500 a month for my wife’s meds. I’m going to have to try the spray though. I’ve had females wake me up because I was snoring so loud and they couldn’t sleep 😒

Yeah US prices are crazy cause they let them charge whatever there. Also they let them advertise and pay off doctors to prescribe there. Not like that here. If a doc is taking kickbacks from a pharmaceutical company they’re going to lose their license. If prices are high people just won’t buy it and docs won’t prescribe it.

Dymista is just a generic COMBO nasal spray of an antihistamine found in Astepro Nasal Spray and the generic Fluticasone steroid that’s the name brand Flonase, so it makes sense that it tastes like shit in your throat. They were killing two birds with one stone by having an antihistamine and steroid together, versus nasal spray steroid and an Allegra or whatnot separate. I wouldn’t toss it, because the Fluticasone part of it will work just as well as what you’re taking now. And gives you an alternate. @TG

Perfect. I’ll probably switch out now then since been on Nasonex for awhile now. Thanks bro.
