Strange Injury

Two weeks ago, I went to the air show in HB. Had a great day. Went and played hockey Sunday morning with nothing really of note happening. Woke up Monday and my neck was sore as hell. Could not lay flat on the decline bench and put my head down (had to crane my neck just to lift). Then slowly, my strength ebbed. Last Friday, I was warming up on bench and I was struggling getting up 185. (I usually max around 345). It’s not really the pain, it just feels like I have no push strength. I made a Dr. apt, but I cant even get in there until next Friday. Made a chiropractor apt. tomorrow. Anyone ever have anything similar happen? I figured it was just a stiff neck at first, until my strength just dumped.

I had a spinal nerve injury which caused my left leg to be so weak it still almost collapses while turning around or walking. This is 5 years after the issue began. Do whatever it takes to get the nerve freed up. Permanent nerve damage sucks! My left leg is half the size of my right leg, and I try my best to get it to catch up.
The doctor will most likely give you prednisone and anti inflammatory drugs to reduce the swelling around the pinched nerve.

Yep. Pinched nerve between 6 and 7. Lost all strength on my left side. Atrophy of left tricep and lat. I was not leaving the arch in my neck when I was heavy benching. I got a home neck traction and used that every day for a month or so. Took me 3 months to regain strength and size. I still to this day have no real feeling I’m my left tricep. No burn when working out. It just stops lifting 🤣. Good luck. Hope the chiropractor helps. Ask them for a home neck traction or buy one from Amazon. 😅

I think it’s just that much stronger than the right my right is stronger in pull motions though. This is from the technique of holding one’s undies down with one one and pulling with the other haha
