As I get ready to Dream the day away, I was thinking , What was the most important advice /tool I received in bbing. My first bottle of Finijet! No , Well?..No , by far it was a food scale! Until I got a really good sense of what I was eating ,I couldnt really go any further. I rarely use one anymore but I did this week and instead of looking up everything, there are great apps out there. Don’t Lie! Sounds crazy but when your dieting some of us …ME, used to lie to myself. AHHH, that looks like 12 oz…its 16. just a handful of popcorn(the bag). This week I ate just like I thought I would but weighed and logged everything. Even the three cadbury eggs. The big thing i have noticed is difference with dense foods like oats or dry cereal, etc. Over the years, I developed a good eye and didnt have to measure everything, plus I have dishes just for the diet, that are 15 years old and like army plates ,rationed, I could tell that there is 6oz of potatoes and 11oz of cod on those!!! Not to mention the mugs, 32oz forever. You will be surprised. I was this week. I would grab food, then go back and weigh it and at the end of the day, most days I was at only 3000kcal, 200 protein plus a shake or two, lots more carbs than I thought. Grabbing a handful of raisins or drinking Pop can really screw you up if your doing a show. I tried to eat exactly like I would normal. Try it. Some guys think they dont eat enough, some too much, its probably the best thing to get down. IMO, a huge part is diet. I really thought I was eating more. I try to feed the LBM and go from there. One more thing, the peanut marzapan from Mexico. Its little round undescribable treat. Size of silver dollar, thicker, omg, if you had one you know what im talking about. 150 kcal and 10g fat, rest carbs. I can eat 10 at a time. The most dense treat ive found. Enjoy.

i am still trying to get that together. i do have a scale…just never used it really but awesome. i know it can be very useful in zeroing in. this is great info

Excellent post bro. I tell people all the time they need to check weight of foods, portions etc. Even making a sauce you need to figure in calories by measurement not by sight. People are usually way off.

@Fitraver, I know you weigh your food before cooking, halfway during, and after!!! LOL In my tired state, I really meant diet and how many guys think they are dieting and arent, so they add some other drug, or are eating nothing and think its 6000 kcal, and add some more test. I was very surprised that I was way off on things like grabbing snacks and not eating much protein if its lean:grin:, In the grand scheme of things, big deal but for this crazy hobby, very important. get your food down, and you will be amazed at “how potent the stuff is your taking, it becomes higher dosed” LOL

I used to weigh around 290 and was a fat ass. That was 9 years ago and I’ve tracked my food ever since. It’s easier for me to keep macros and stuff on track because I have a bit of a food addiction. I will say going from my notebook to the myfitness pal app a few years ago has made it 1000x easier.
