Whey vs casein protein

I’ve read a few people on here saying stay away from casein protein (don’t remember who, or the context) but it makes me think maybe the difference is misunderstood.

This article breaks it down nicely.

Whey for post workout, absorbed readily quickly.

Casein before a fast, I use casein before bed due to its longer breakdown. Greek yogurt is casein protein I believe.

One isn’t necessarily better than the other, when using them as they are intended.

For those trying to mass, start using casein before bed time and watch those gains add up!

For those trying to cut, I use casein to keep me full and satisfied for longer during the deeper deficit of a cut. But I still use whey post workout.

@Rusty I took the plunge. Put egg whites in my protein shake at work. I’m officially one of you… well. Actually lemme try and drink it and see how it goes.

On the occasion I use protein powder raw eggs I dump in, I like the way it thickens up can’t really taste in a good ol vanilla one,of its cold outside and I gotta work or hunt I will drink a Shake

Yeah I’m sure it helps to get in the protein I know your busyv

I know that some people have a reaction kinda like celiac disease when they use casein something to do with the dairy that it comes from that’s the only reason ive heard bad about casein

Im going to try it because it could be a great last meal and while you sleep have 50g of real food protein to be turned into muscle lol I wish I could add 50g of muscle for every 50g of protein but if on the correct compounds that produce nitrogen retention and protein synthesis its a good idea just like a before bed shake.

Love casein before bed as it “sticks to your ribs” so you aren’t gonna wake up at 3:00 am hungry.

You’ll be in a deep REM sleep and your body will recoup and grow.

Whey throughout the day and Casein at night.
