Working out in the cold?

It feels colder hahah. Are you outside or in non climate controlled environment. It may take more to get warmed up but playing in cold the only difference was shit hurt more when you hit

It gets in the 30’s here… my gym isn’t climate controlled. I just wear sweat pants and a hoodie. My hands are fubar… on occasion when it’s real cold I’ll have to wear mechanix gloves due to the bar being so cold it hurts my hands.

It just takes longer to get warm. When we’re home and working out in the garage I just get on the bike in full sweats for 20-30 minutes until I’m sweating then I do my workout specific warmup.

I’ve spent a fair amount of time working out outside in the snow in NY. Once your blood is flowing and you warm up you’re good to go. And you’re definitely burning calories when your body is trying to stay warm.

Personally when it gets cold I just wear layers got some fleece sweats for lifting then strip to shorts when I do my cardio. It’s a little harder to get a Geary pump but with enough clothes and time it’s easy. When there’s a will there’s a way.

Friend has a barn gym and the wood stove just takes off the edge. Still stays below freezing. Definitely have to warm up and that cold steel @Poppy it sucks. I usually lift less weight more reps. When I use to do dead’s and it was real cold I wouldn’t !!! Anything lower back related I don’t like doing in the cold other then firewood or carrying a deer. Lol.
