Elbow and Knee Sleeves for Prehab

Sitting here in my truck after squat day… it’s been 6 months since my knee surgery. Meniscus repair x 2 in the right knee. Just taking inventory of how everything feels. Back and knees feel great.

I attribute a lot of it to the knee sleeves I wear. They provide zero support but act as great heaters. I had a lot of sweat dripping from them this morning when I finished. During the winter months I use ice-e-hot (sp) under the sleeves. I have also wrapped over the sleeves (training) when my squats were enough to warrant it.

I also use elbow sleeves on my upper body days.

These sleeves heat up the joints and all the fluid around them. This will help prevent injuries and make training a little more pain free.

Poppy… I’m young and don’t have any injuries or pain…do I need sleeves?

Absolutely, it wouldn’t hurt. You might not need the hot rub under them but they very well could prevent an injury and you’ll look cool.

I, personally, use Tommy Kono and ELITEfts sleeves. I’ve got two sets of kono’s that are 20 years old. They are tore and a little mangled but still going strong. There are many brands and it’s a personal decision on which one you’ll prefer.

I’ve used the old blue rheband 7mm knees sleeves for years. And I got some of mark bells elbow sleeves. I felt so good using those things I got back into heavy bench and POW POW tore my pec. I still use them on warm up sets Bc my elbows feel like gravel in the early sets.

I’ve stopped using knee sleeves as earlier last year I decided to go down in weight on everything and go back to working full ROM.

But I’m a huge supporter of them.

I keep saying im going to start using sleeves and then I don’t just to be honest but I could definitely use one for my knee and one for my bicep or elbow.

I always talk about Harm Reduction and sleeves helping injuries is just that I need to step up my game a bit lol

Great post

I believe there’s enough different brands out there now so the price is driven down. There’s some that aren’t too terribly expensive. I think the rehbands were kind of the first high end ones. There prices are actually reasonable. I’m sure they have a “premium” model that isn’t cheap!

Honestly lol its funny that you know im cheap and that’s why I never bought any lol lol

That’s really the truth working out is expensive and sleeves vs food =FOOD lol

Im just cheap but they can really help me and honestly im hurting sitting down right now so I could definitely use some to help and sleeves are probably the least expensive option to feel better

It is expensive but that was hilarious I had to take a second lol

Its really for me the food and im cutting but during a bulk my grocery bill can bankrupt me lol

The equipment you can collect over time and you will grow and so will your gym but the food is the gut punch nowadays the prices are crazy at the store.

The ones you have aren’t crazy Tommy Kono 40$ average that’s not bad compared to even a doctor visit so much better idea to prehab issues and stay ahead of the game
