Elbow and Knee Sleeves for Prehab
Sitting here in my truck after squat day… it’s been 6 months since my knee surgery. Meniscus repair x 2 in the right knee. Just taking inventory of how everything feels. Back and knees feel great.
I attribute a lot of it to the knee sleeves I wear. They provide zero support but act as great heaters. I had a lot of sweat dripping from them this morning when I finished. During the winter months I use ice-e-hot (sp) under the sleeves. I have also wrapped over the sleeves (training) when my squats were enough to warrant it.
I also use elbow sleeves on my upper body days.
These sleeves heat up the joints and all the fluid around them. This will help prevent injuries and make training a little more pain free.
Poppy… I’m young and don’t have any injuries or pain…do I need sleeves?
Absolutely, it wouldn’t hurt. You might not need the hot rub under them but they very well could prevent an injury and you’ll look cool.
I, personally, use Tommy Kono and ELITEfts sleeves. I’ve got two sets of kono’s that are 20 years old. They are tore and a little mangled but still going strong. There are many brands and it’s a personal decision on which one you’ll prefer.
