Government hacks Pipeline Hackers

So as you know a group of hackers high jacked a pipeline with ransom ware and was paid a boat load of Bitcoin to release it. While checking my Bitcoin today I noticed it was going down again. Apparently the US was able to figure out how to retrieve the private keys of one of the wallets to where most of the Bitcoin went to and has since recovered it. Part of me is super pumped for getting back some of the ransom but the side is like WTF lol.

As far as I know, it was a good chunk of their money, and they all went into “early retirement” because of it.

I believe that its bs I believe that the usa hacked themselves and this is the excuse there giving for the prices of gas and food going up.

I really believe though that the government did this on purpose that’s why they didn’t blame Russia they just blamed some hacker group.

Biden doesn’t want to answer questions about why gas doubled in price or why your grocery bill is going to increase by atleast 20%

They just blame it on hackers then they also demonize bitcoin because they really don’t like bitcoin even though I still believe that the Usa created bitcoin possibly China, Russia, and Japan are contenders also these governments needed a new way to move money outside of the banking system.

So it was a legitimate hack?

Why would they not store 5 million in btc on a cold storage device instead of leaving it online and vulnerable.

I just can’t believe that a real hacker would not use a trezor or something

I’m not a reliable source of information here. Your theory is just as possible. I’ve only heard things on the news. But hacking warfare, is not an uncommon thing now… seems like hacking and DDoS attempts are an everyday thing at my work which doesn’t even store private user data, beyond a billing address.

We get attacked all the time also but we put emphasis into security. Thank goodness we do lol

I truly believe what I think I thought that you possibly had inside information. I don’t really keep in communication with anyone like that anymore so I don’t know if they did it or not.

What got me though to believe that its bs is 5 million left in a wallet why wouldn’t they have put it on cold storage. There hackers they know not to leave 5 million in btc lying around to be stolen.

Then again they might not have even cared because I believe it’s close to a billion stolen through ransomware now.

You know, you have a point. You’d think after their hack hit news headlines, everyone should be scrambling to clean the evidence, and lock everything up. And just chill for a few months.

This is definitely something that I wouldn’t doubt either lol the people doing these things I have seen some pictures there loaded and living the life but they are 18-30 in age range from what I have seen and im guessing the age from the pictures and the way they were spending the money. The driveway had probably 20 cars so I believe that they are definitely young.

I just don’t believe that they did it but that’s another very plausible idea also a kid.

I’m with you. I wouldn’t put it past the government to hack its on wallet and pipeline. It fits the narrative on so many accounts. Pipelines bad, bitcoin bad let the government protect you from these awful things.
