Greetings,
I’ve been lurking for a while. 43 yr 6’3" and 210 lbs. I’ve been on trt for a year and made great progress. Now I want to hit that next level. I grew up around bodybuilder older brothers and friends, but never really got into it beyond making trips to Mexico in the late 90’s for everyone. So I’m not clueless, but I’ve really learned a lot here and kicked some useless “knowledge”. I plan to keep a slow and steady pace with health and athletic progress (bjj coach) being my main focus; aesthetic benefits commingled in there somewhere.

Good evening. 6-3… you’re a big dude.

At 210, you probably don’t have much bf with your bjj training.

What are you looking for… some beach muscles… little more muscle size… not being a smarty pants just drilling down.

Are you adverse to hypertrophy training?

With that height, you’ve got a LOT of room to grow.

Doc prescribed trt?

Dr Prescribed trt at 100mg wk with test currently around 920. I have some belly fat, not much, I’m shedding right now. I keep improving the diet and the recomp is going well. Over the years you actually get more efficient with your movement in BJJ, so you actually get soft as you learn how to not exert yourself. I’m looking to get back to fighting form (220 lean). I don’t know my current BF. I’m going to just keep running the trt for another month or so. So, in short, I need to pack on more beef, power, and not lose my cardio.

Getting to 220 shouldn’t be a problem… same with losing a bit of belly cake.

Clean up your diet a bit…maybe a bit more conditioning.

My levels were about 400 before, but felt like dog shit and just couldn’t get going. I managed to start a program before trt with progress, but I couldn’t do anything else. With three kids that’s just not an option. I was about 240 when I decided to stop drinking. Years of beating my body to hell and I just woke up. So we’re winding the clock back a bit.

Welcome.

Congrats on the -30lbs!

So you are looking to add about 15 lbs of muscle from here…and it looks like the TRT is going well.

I would suggest changing your diet and workouts to meet these goals over the next 6 months and see where you are then. These are your Best cards to play right now. You can save an increased dose for later (which is a good thing).

I would also recommend adding one thing at a time and measuring the results…this really requires patience and a mistake I think a lot of us make and wish we knew better when we started our journey. There are compounds that your body will like and not like. But if you add orals, higher dose of test, hgh, and new compounds on top…you won’t be able to ascertain each ones unique effect on you.

I would also look into a prescription for Telmisartan and Metformin.

What are your thoughts on how best to hit your goals?

Yeah, busy week. Classes started back up, so back to teaching. I have to teach the 5th year apprentices Industrial Rigging and Crane Signaling, so next week will be just as big of a jumble.

Still trying to adjust to doing this shit called cardio, and eating a cleaner diet, although I’m usually cramming rice cakes with PB and Strawberry Preserves down my pie hole along with more protein at 8:30 every night
