Has anyone ever heard of a mass gainer making them sick to the point of throwing up? Same MuscleTech product I posted the other day. Mixed with water and added peanut butter. Been drinking for 3-4 days and this is the first of this happening…any ideas of possible causes? Also 2nf half serving of the day.

Could just be something isn’t right with the ingredients and didn’t suit you. I’d make your own when it comes to mass gainers. All those on the market are full of bullshit. About he only one I would trust is Jim Stoppanis.

yes i was sick ,in morning ,then 4 days went by and i was sick again ,ever since i buy jym stoppanis ,agree with fit there

He lists out every single ingredient and how much. He was the fro t runner to make companies start doing that in This industry. Vs limping things into groups and having no clue how much of each. Was more important in preworkouts.

It has happened in the past where some of these products get contaminated with salmonella and other bacterias that can cause you to get sick. I’m not exactly sure if that’s what’s going on but it has happened in the past. I’m not really big on though supplement Mass gainers protein shakes and all the different powders. I’ve always believed that you can spend your money on real food and get a better return on your investment. I do also believe that the powder products have their place and do help I just believe that you really need to get the top quality products because the supplement industry is a very shady industry there’s really no regulation and they’re really not held to any standards. I just read a story the other day about dietary supplements multiple different brands containing kratom it’s supposedly a type of opiate and the only reason that they found out that these supplements contain kratom was because of a salmonella outbreak and that investigation led to the FDA finding out that they were putting this in the supplements do get the people addicted to them these supplements range from diet pills creatine protein and BCAA. It was mostly though weight loss pills. Your body also might just be rejecting the amount of calories and nutrients being taken in maybe try to cut back and take less and build your way up this might help your body adjust to the intake of the product better.

That’s a big thing for him to be doing I have a lot of respect for him and his products if he really is listing everything and how much correctly. The supplement industry is just so shady it would be great if someone did come out and actually hold their products accountable for what needs to be in them and what is in them. I’m going to check out his stuff I actually didn’t know about it thanks for the heads up

i thing dave pallumbo got my respect ,after ditching his supplier when they tried to use inferior products .i know he his a bit expensive but his and jym is the only ones i use ,yes agree with murph ,but i do just use as a supplement not a meal replacement ,nothing like nice peice of fish but i rather have a shke with some casein in b4 i go bed

Yeah Stoppani puts out some good stuff. Even before him was Doug Miller and core nutritionals which are my favorite products! No propriety blends are the way to go!

Ok thanks I will make my switch to him when I finish my whey and casein I hav now

@Bigmurph I run his pre workout, fish oils, multi, and protein. It’s kinda costly but worth it. I actually prefer magnum nutraceuticals over anything but they’re really
Pricey. All pharm grade tho and from Canada.

This is from his site:

Until I formulate a JYM mass-gainer, here’s how you can build your own.

One of the common questions I get asked on social media is a recommendation for a good mass-gainer until I release one of my own.

To be honest, I have yet to find a quality mass gainer on the market. And that’s why I had to make my own. The problem with most mass gainers is that they’re loaded with cheap sugars as a carb source. This not only can lead to greater fat gain, but can be very unhealthy when drinking them several times a day. Of course, many supplement companies try to trick the consumer by using ingredients like maltodextrin instead. While maltodextrin is technically a complex carb, in the body it breaks apart very rapidly and spikes blood sugar and insulin levels even faster and higher than sugar does. This allows them to list less sugar (or no sugar) on the product label. The unsuspecting consumer has no idea that the carbs in that product are sugar in disguise.

So until my JYM mass gainer is out, I recommend that you make your own with the recipe below. Before I get into the recipe, I want to mention one more thing about mass gainers. A mass gainer is not some magical formula that will build muscle better than a regular protein blend like Pro JYM. A mass gainer is designed for those who cannot eat enough calories, protein, carbs and fat to build adequate muscle. This is typically teenage males and guys in their early 20s.

For those of you who are truly hard gainers and no matter how much you eat you cannot gain any weight, this homemade mass gainer is just for you. Drink this mass gainer with breakfast, around workouts (consider making it before workouts and sipping on it before, during and after workouts like I do in this video, and before bed. Three of these shakes per day will add over 2,800 calories, 225 grams of protein, over 270 grams of carbs and over 90 grams of fat to your daily totals.

Ingredients
2 scoops Pro JYM protein powder (any flavor Pro JYM you prefer)
2 cups of whole milk
1/2 cup dry oats
1 medium banana
1 tablespoon natural peanut butter (or nut butter)
2-3 cups ice

Directions
Simply combine the ingredients in a blender and blend. Have it in place of where I normally recommend a protein shake in meal plans.

Nutrition Info
955 calories
75 g protein
90 g carbs
30 g fat
