More reps is it a waste?

I have a problem with injuries to my right arm that hold me back from lifting heavy.
I push it as far as I can but when im pushing 30 reps with ease I I alot of times feel like im wasting my time.
What is the opinion on this subject.
Do people think that I should start pushing the weight up?
Or should I start to push the reps up with the weight going up extremely slowly?

What im really worried about is rupturing my bicep again.

What do you all think is the route I should take?

High reps with lower weight work slow twitch muscle fibers so it can offer great toning benefits but if you’re plateauing and not changing up the rep scheme then you are wasting your time. Lower your reps and do everything as slow as humanly possible. That’s my input. Let’s see what @PHD says

Did you get it fixed (your bicep) if so you should be fine. I agree with @Ironside definitely need to change it up. Try to add more weight slowly and test your arm see how you react. Are you doing 30
Reps on all exercises

I have curls doing 30 reps then 40 then 40.
That was what made me come on today and ask about this.
I think it’s ridiculous to do that many reps and no just the exercises that effect my right arm I do that many reps but then even when bench pressing I know that I can lift more weight I know that it would be a better workout but I can feel the stress on my bottom side of my forearm where it was attached and I was told by the doctor that there isn’t enough left to reattach again. It worries me but I just feel like im holding myself back from getting alot more gains.

Should I start to push it harder? I really don’t know and im not actually at a plateau im just getting to the point where im doing 40 reps on an exercise and letting it effect other exercises also.

What do you think brother?

Only you know your body bro and it’s better safe than sorry. I have nerve damage in my right elbow (ulnar nerve torn some years back) and if I push it too hard I won’t be able to lift for weeks at a time. I do a rep scheme called the dirty 30 sometimes where I pyramid but I start at 15 reps and I add weight until I’ve reached 30lbs over where I started. Even if I start at 5lbs by the time I get to 35lbs it feels like double. You might try something similar.

That’s interesting
Im probably going to try and push it to be honest but im going to do it so that I know exactly how far I can take it

I read years ago that one of the old school trainers, Vince G I think, could wear your arms out with no more than 25 pound dumbbells. Had to do with the speed of the reps and switching betten high speed reps and super slow reps. Muscle confusion and massive pumps.

I was actually with a physical therapist for 3 months 4x a wk and we did alot of work because it was bad.
I understand though that if I want to push it I should probably have a professional there watching and making sure that im doing what I should be doing

We used to do something like this for football.
We would use 10lb plate’s and the movements that the coach would make us do at different speeds different movements and it would kick our whole upper body. I and the other guys that were lifting heavy and hard year round sometimes 2 a days couldn’t even finish his routine. I understand it now but I couldn’t understand it then lol

I hired a mobility coach … I train … complain and he analyzes the video asks me some really specific questions about where it hurts and when and then sends me stuff to do … I got to the point where he writes up a program that gets integrated into my other coaches program

I completely understand your right a coach or specialist is exactly what I need I had it for the first 3 months but that was paid for.
I actually last night pushed it alot further then I would and im sore it hurts but honestly it always hurts so no difference there but the feeling of the tendon where it attaches to the bone pulling and being able to feel that pull going through the motions was scaring me but I made it through and had a good workout.
Would I continue to push it like that I don’t know we will see next time it comes to that point. Really just see how im feeling and listen to my body and get a good warm up in.

Quit being a pussy and fucking lift 😂😂😂😂.

You know I’m here to give you shit lol. Just be careful on back and bicep days especially. Just if it hurts don’t do it. We both know you won’t get a coach so listen to your body if it hurts stop and move to something different.

Ive actually been considering following your plan and join titan training serious also.
I want better help with.my diet and training I believe that I could really get so much more from the help. Im doing good in my opinion but im not going to bs im using alot of compounds. Id like to continue the test primo hgh and then get my training and diet plan perfect and see if I can take it to another level. I don’t have the money now but once I get everything together that is going on right now. I really want to get a coach and it will be good because it will be around the time I could start another cycle.
