Getting ready to wrap up Terminal List based on a book series written by a real Navy Seal.

I liked the series. Very gritty with zero agenda… left or right.

I read several articles/reviews and I guess the critics didn’t like it because it didn’t have enough “woke” culture in it. Apparently, everyone else liked it because it’s been watched by a bunch of folks.

The critics can go eff theirselves. One thing about it…you haven’t heard the phrase “toxic masculinity” as it relates to the men folk defending their motherland in Ukrain.

Warning… following is controversial… you won’t here any of the sissies screaming about toxic masculinity or their feelings when the barbarians are at the gate.

I will also add… this series has been watched by a bunch of people. I always seem to meet a couple of “ex seals” after every big popular movie/show about them. One dude I knew for decades and after one of the seal movies he came out of the closet as a former seal…whatever!!!

Oh not much cool.what are me and the battle ax doin, not much either thanks for asking

I mean. If what you mean by “woke” is people not automatically buying into the nationalistic jingoism like they used to, I can definitely see that. When I was younger I went for this kinda stuff. Nowadays, I don’t tend to see the USA as unambiguously the “good guys” like I used to. It’s just a lot harder for me to buy into those ideas than it used to be — especially having been in the military and having seen how it treats its people and it’s veterans.

I’ve seen the same headlines making the rounds and personally I think it’s just the director can’t handle the idea that people wouldn’t like his straight to streaming movie by claiming there’s some kind of woke agenda to sabotage his movie.

Like, maybe it’s exactly the same as every other military thriller? Exactly like the hated critics are saying?

Don’t get me wrong, I like a good action flick the same as the next guy. But there’s only so many times I can see a Rambo movie before they start getting repetitive.

Not a movie. It’s a series based on a book.

Agreed a the rambo type movies/shows/series…samo samo…”ex special forces joe schmo is wronged and is dragged back into action”

Every so often there’s a good one. I liked Denzel as the equalizer… good plot… of course Denzel is a great actor imo.

Critics suck. You could take wokeness out of it. That’s I term I tend to hate anyways as people over use it. Like right now I have people tell me the ncaa is woke cuase of nil. Nil is opposite of woke it’s the most capitalist thing about college sports letting players actualy make
Money off themselves.

@Dirtnasty yeh and that’s the whole thing that bothers me about this. The director is invoking the term in order to rally people to his cause, when in reality no critic is talking about anything “woke” in their reviews — they’re just evaluating the series on its merits.

He’s only using the term to drum up controversy with neckbeards who respond to the term “woke” because of this apparent perception that there’s some sort of war on “American” culture. It’s total bullshit and manipulative af.

Actually there is a war on American culture. It’s the notion that masculinity is evil. It’s the men pretending they’re female and playing in women’s sports. It’s the gender pronouns that people just invent or decide they’re so special they can change the English language. It’s so many things I couldn’t possibly list them all.

I worked with a couple of dudes that identified as women…they were very adamant about it. I posed the question of commitment… until you’ve lopped your daddy parts off you’re just a feminine dude that dresses like a woman…

In my mind it’s like suicide… commitment is everything.

Go to the local hardware store…buy some hedge/tree pruners… drive to the emergency room…park illegally close to where the ambulances are… make the 911 call then immediately lop off your twig and berries. That will garner street cred and commitment to your identity.

That’s mostly my comedic outlook on it… one of these days I’ll explain theme park bingo and how to play that.
