So this is pretty cool so far.
getsession.org
Session messenger kinda steals a lot of what other apps claim to want to do but never did. Its a lot like a crypto wallet but over a messenger.
Messages are encrypted. No need for any email or username, phone numbers. When you create an account its a session ID similar to how a Bitcoin wallet ID would look. There’s no way to tell who is talking to who and has the deleted message benefits of an app like wickr. There’s no central server storing data unless using open groups. There’s encrypted closed groups for up to 10 people available.
No meta data sent, 100% open source. No IP addresses logged or sent.
Its currently undergoing a security audit. But expected to be fine based on code out now.
They have their own “onion routing” node systems set up on the network to hide activity.
I won’t be 100% behind it until it passes the security audit but will be using it in meantime anyway.
Session | Send Messages, Not Metadata. | Private Messenger
Session is a private messenger that aims to remove any chance of metadata collection by routing all messages through an onion routing network.
