Good afternoon everyone. First time signing up for these types of forums. Heard good things about the site so i joined.
Im a 38yr male, started becoming interested in weightlifting at 13yrs old. Everything about it was so interesting to me from terminology to the atmosphere. Eight yrs ago i was in a very dark place in my life and one day i woke up and told myself it was time to change EVERYTHING. First step was going back out into the public and become social again but very important was to get my body healthy again. During those dark times i drank alot, did drugs, was unemployed and wife was suffering becuz of me. I took steps to get myself out this dark hole just by the will of god. Still not sure how i did it but now everything is great. Back working again, healthier and wife is happy again. I was in great shape before them dark times but let myself go to 310lbs at 5’11”. Im older now so its become very hard for me to get into shape so thats why im here today at this forum to get motivated by tips, suggestions and recommendations. Eventually ill be looking for some gear to get back into shape and become the person i was before i hit rock bottom. My focus right now is losing body fat and adding muscle. Prior to gaining weight i was a solid 235lbs. I believe i will get to that place again. Hope everyone is safe and healthy while the world is upside down with this Covid-19 bullshit. We will get through all of this. Have a great day.

Welcome to the best forum out there. Honest you will find great information, helpful members, and all without the berating and b.s. other forums are notorious for. There are a handful of folks on here who have similar stories and have dealt with issues related to drug and alcohol abuse. Glad you posted an intro and are ready to make some serious changes in your health!

Welcome- you’ll like it here. Based on your intro, I was in a similar situation to yours and can tell you that once you’re at rock bottom, the only way is up. Drugs, alcohol, all the other shit will be a distant memory my friend. Keep motivated, keep at it and your life will improve. Trust me brother, you’ve made a great start by making the decision to turn it around.

Awesome intro !
You got yourself out of the dark place cause that’s what you wanted to do. Great to hear that.
Keep it positive and research what you want out of this and you will find it.
We can help you with the journey too.

Welcome and keep on moving forward!

Thank you for the welcome, I appreciate it. Ill be relying on you guys to finish the journey of being in the best shape i’ve ever been.

Welcome to ugmuscle brother glad to have you around

Curious question did you run gear before you became depressed?

Don’t stress either if you saw me 10 yrs ago I was a straight junkie and a mess but I put one foot in front of the other for awhile and came out the other side much better so your in the right place amongst people who have been in the same types of situations.

My first step to deal with my weight loss was I made a deal with myself that if it didn’t come straight from the ground or wasn’t breathing before I cooked it I wasn’t allowed to eat it I had to make everything fresh myself cutting out fast food and take out and anything from a box.
This and me getting back to working out cut the weight off of me in around a year I was a whole new person.

That’s the real trick just keep moving forward one foot in front of the other you might slide back but keep it moving forward and you will get wherever you want in terms of your goals anything is achievable with time.

Welcome aboard. Take small steps and set attainable goals. There is no rush. Find what works best for you. Listen to the advise from others

Thanx man, appreciate the feedback and the advice as well. To answer your question, I ran gear for a few months until i reached my goals as far as muscle mass and low body fat percentage. I got off them gears but continued to train my ass off. Lost some muscle after jumping off them but overall i was still jacked. A year later, I had a lot of bullshit happen in my life all in one shot and just became too overwhelming for me to handle. The drive to lift a barbell completely went away. Drank a lot, ate a lot,and did a shit load of coke which ultimately led me to lose my job and my family for quite awhile. The gears did not effect my mental state whatsoever thank god or it would have been worse or possible death by suicide. God is great man. Got my life back and some. My diet is ok but it can be better and I will make the necessary steps to improve that. I was on a roll training at my gym 6x a week until Covid-19 closed up the gym. Trying to buy racks and barbells is a joke. Its either out of stock or priced really high (Rogue). Thank you for the humble advice my friend.

That’s exactly why I was asking because if the pct you ran didn’t bring your testosterone levels back it can really mess you up mentally.
I would actually recommend running bloodwork just to see if your testosterone levels are low. If so a trt dose of testosterone will help so much with getting you back to where your looking to be compounds like nor19 and others can really make it hard but getting yourself back in range if that’s an underlying issue will help alot.

Also brother im always here to help you can tag me into any conversation just by typing @Bigmurph
