That’s the non politician in him. A real politician just comes in and cleans house.

One of the couple of downsides to NOT being a politician.

Don’t misunderstand me. That’s why I voted for him twice. He wasn’t a politician and it was NOT business as usual in the swamp.

I just wish Trump had lived up to what he could have been, viz., a true iconoclast that shook up government and changed it for good. Instead, he devolved into a sociopath concerned more with himself than the good of the American public, and that undercut the validity of all the good he did (lowest Black unemployment rate in history) and in fact made any stance he took (e.g., immigration) serve as the diametric opposite standard for policies of the Democratic PARTY. As a Libertarian Republican, that was a huge disappointment. Just my $.02.

He was the best option at the time. But out of that movement grew a lot more people into politics that would never have entered. He got too concerned with trying to please everyone instead of doing what he was there to do.
