A very good friend of mine died last week at 59 years old.

He had cancer 3 times through his 40’s and early 50’s. He fought through all that to include chemo and surgeries…3 times! He was extremely tenacious. Apparently, he wasn’t feeling good for a couple of weeks and tested negative for covid…ended up in the hospital with pneumonia and died.

We worked together and he eventually got promoted to our supervisor. Just a good dude…easy to work with and for. He got promoted to a higher position as an off site lead where they all loved him.

Going to pay my respects and see a bunch of folks I haven’t seen since retirement…this afternoon….

It was a great service. It was an outdoor venue which was perfect. My buddy was an avid outdoorsman.

Saddest thing there was his first wife did him dirty. His adult daughter turned out to be a fine young lady. He was engaged to be married in June to a very nice woman who was younger than him. She had two little girls (12ish and 9ish) that thought the world of him and were visibly distraught.

Did get to see a bunch of folks I hadn’t seen since they or I retired. That was cool.

Probably 300 or more folks there. Dude was well liked and respected by many.

Lots of folks stood up and spoke.

I did everyone a favor and did not…y’all think I’m chatty on here…in person…I can do some talking…especially about something I care about.
