Anyone having to take it for BP, how big of a difference would be to take two of the 5mg +80mg dosage vs one 5mg +160mg? Wondering since they offer it that way instead of 10mg +160mg and I still have several boxes of the 80 left.
Titration of amlodipine from 5 mg daily to 10 mg daily resulted in a statistically significant decrease in blood pressure. Amlodipine 10 mg lowered SBP by −13.3 mmHg (95% CI −15.5 to −11.0) and DBP by −9.2 mmHg (95% CI −10.6 to −7.8) at the final visit (P <0.0001 for both)
Looks like potentially quite a bit. If you have that much wiggle room to spare in your BP you’d be fine. Only way to really know is to take it and then document your BP throughout that day.
Thanks. Some days better then others. But for sure if I take 12 hours apart I would be ok still. Maybe even feel better. I’m coming down from so much daily caffeine and oddly seems my BP is going higher at night since doing that.
I monitor it usually when I start getting headaches or heart rate goes up. I increased my nebivololum cause heart rate was in mid to high 90s at half a 5mg pill to a full 5mg. Now it’s around mid to high 70s. Doc told me before he wanted me on it when it was in 90s.normally.
My caffeine was between 560-700mg daily. I currently lowered that to 150 but now my headaches are starting back and blood pressure went up. I have a machine at home so easy to check whenever needed really or I feel something is off.
Tomorrow will increase caffeine to 300 and see how I feel I guess.
Well in any study we are looking for the average response. Some people respond totally different than most. Like I’ve had patients become insanely hyperactive after taking Benadryl when it normally makes ppl sleepy.
That study was a jumbled mess and lacked the whole picture but it provided the best cross-section of people.
I agree, however I don’t care to much for Amlodipine. Side effects such as headaches ,and other effect of calcium channel Blockers. It just relaxes heart . I felt better on 2.5 and 160 telmisartan. Ive seen people Get edema from 5-10. no higher than 10 unless you have something else going on. Your smart always look at medication reaction with other meds. Norvasc has a long list @Neuro will know a lot more about the Parenteral addition of all those drugs. I give them to “awake” diabetics who don’t care and ESRD patients that don’t really care, some do. I have pretty much went back to manual BP because I’m amazed at the 160/110…“I feel fine” I kinda feel Valsartan is “stronger” but Im doing good with TEL. I’ve been turned down for 2 sleep studies and my machine of course was part of the Phillips REs-Med deal. stop selling them, everything, My Doctor has to appeal to the insurance companies review “doctor” by phone now to explain that without CPAP , I might as well take Halcion and dilaudid, I’ll stop breathing less.
So my blood pressure is lower with 300 mg caffeine then with 150 for some reason. At least thru the day. In a couple days will be checking with dipp amlodipinum at 10mg instead of 5mg. And adjusting nebivololum to half a pill again as my hr in day sits at 73-80 but drops to 60 at night.
