I found the forum through one of the sponsors I do business with. I’m looking forward to learning and hopefully contributing.

5’11”, 240lb, 22%bf, I turn 50 in January, so I’m just trying to be the best I can be!

Glad to have you. I’m very interested in all things training… especially advanced age training.

My approach has definitely changed as I get older. I rep slowly and no ego lifting. I only use what I need to stimulate growth.

I’m back in the gear game after a long hiatus, and I’m feeling youthful and strong. I am currently doing some serious recovery after I overdid my workouts for a couple weeks straight.

My wife tells me “do what you want (with the gear and lifting), but I don’t want to hear you complaining about being sore or getting hurt.”

I mentioned that my left knee was hurting and she said “you mean the knee that’s 50 years old?”

Dammit!!

Welcome. I’m about the same exact dimensions, just a little shorter.

I’m good at bulking, but very average at cutting.

It used to be easy to cut 2-3lbs/wk. Now it takes a month of dedication to lose 4-5lbs.

There’s room for improvement in my diet and overall approach. That’s part of the fun of this hobby. Always something new to learn and try.
