Suggestion for mobile UGM

Just a suggestion about PM use… I have noticed when I use my PM on mobile I can only type so far before the screen stops advancing. I have to send multiple messages rather than just one so I can see what my messages say before sending.

Anyway to fix that issue because I don’t have that problem with posting a thread

I have experience the same thing. But if you select the message from your avatar drop down then it shows up like a thread and you dont have that issue. The only time you have the issue is when you select the envelope I’m guessing.

I can try that next time I receive a message, but since our moderators are always working on making things better I figured I would mention it to see if it’s something we can fix! Thanks for jumping in so I know I’m not the only one experiencing the issue

So I just did what you explained @Ironside and it’s possible to do what you said but not user friendly… I had to actually go back to the message a second time threw the avatar drop down before it was visible as a thread

The option for mobile is a fast message add on. We can turn it off if enough people want it. Also when you check a message just click the arrow in upper right and that will take you to normal posting.

On mobile @TG it takes me to another screen that does nothing!

I mean I have been around long enough to figure it out but as far as user friendly it’s not something somebody new is gonna know

Took it off. Now you need to manually check messages to view it.

Will that still pop up on the avatar as a notification?

This was just a suggestion to be able to use the PM service on mobile, any other members that have a suggestion please chime in so we get some feedback

Well honestly I just tried it and I think the change is better for PM conversations! (On mobile)

I pm on mobile all day without issues. Just go to your inbox then message from there. Takes two extra clicks lol.

Im really confused because I have never had this issue before with the app, desktop or mobile versions. Is it an issue with ios and not android?

@Fitraver thats what im talking about… the message that you click on is fine but as far as typing something that requires a lenghty PM takes multiple messages (on the mobile version)

Also are you using the actual app??? Just open ugm in google chrome or aloha browser and keep it open and use that. I just realized you were talking about an app. I use mobile but with a browser.

My point exactly! I have been around UGM enough to figure it out, but let’s take the new member into consideration! If a new member has difficulty why should they engage in conversation and not find another forum? Im all about supporting and helping so I think any advice could help our community!

My solution when something doesn’t work is to drop check it… Give that a try.
