This is amazing to me
The United states government says that marijuana is a schedule 1 drug. This means that marijuana has no medical use. How is it possible to have a marijuana based drug if marijuana is still a schedule 1 controlled substance.
Marijuana is now legal for recreational use by basically the entire western United states and some of the eastern United states.
Almost every state has medical use approved. The fda has approved a drug?
Yet they haven’t changed the rules on the schedule for marijuana. How is this even possible?
We see most of the usa hooked on opioid drugs that pharma companies make billions from and this just shows how much power they really have over the FDA.
The fda knows that they have to approve this drug because there tests show that it works.
They know and have known for way to long that marijuana has medical use but they still will not reschedule it as a schedule 3 controlled substance meaning that it can federally be turned into medicine.
Canada is now 100% legal.
Mexico is very close to becoming legal.
Why will the United states not just end the era of prosecution for marijuana?
I understand that this would cause a big money loss for pharmaceutical companies,prisons and jails. Lets not forget who would take the biggest loss of them all.

The DEA
80% of the budget for the dea comes from the fight against marijuana. I don’t know the budget for the DEA but I can imagine that its a large number. If they were to lose 80% of their budget would the DEA cease to exist?
I don’t know but there are alot of companies private and federal agencies that would take a big loss if marijuana becomes federally legalized.
I believe that the only reason Canada was able to do it was because they have a medical system that is government controlled.
I believe that this medication and others need to be available to patients that suffer from seizures.
My biggest belief in marijuana needing to be a medicine is watching my best friend growing up develop stomach cancer.
He was about dead and the doctor finally told him to stop using the oxycontin and to start smoking marijuana. I truly believe that this decision gave him almost another 3 years.
For someone who knows that there on a clock 3 years is an amazing amount of time to go from bed ridden and dying back to there feet and eating and able to go about living there life for 3 more years.
I have tears in my eyes because I miss my boy more than you can imagine.
People please get involved in helping to push marijuana as a medicine.
I could care less about smoking marijuana.
I don’t use drugs ive been clean for almost a decade.
I read about this when I woke up and thought about how stupid it is that we allow our government to not allow people to get the medicine they need to live.

This is basically a rant that I needed to vent but in all reality if you don’t support marijuana as medicine please take a look into it and try to support the people that just want to live a better life for a little longer.

Legal states have been using CBD’s varieties for a long time. CBD’s can also be acquired from other plants not associated with the cannabis family.

Its natural medicine from a plant that already exists. Some pharmaceutical company greased the right wheels to sell $2 worth of CBD extract for 1000X the current market price. The molecule is not even modified, its literally straight up plant extract. What a crock of shit. There are actually 3 poised to hit the market, they are pushing the whole “weed is really dangerous cause a person might get 10mg instead of 15mg of CBD, we make it safe by charging $900 to measure accurately”. Like it makes any difference to somebody with intractable seizures. Being there are already several high CBD (like 15+%) low THC (<1%) that go for $5 a gram, there should be 0 market for this garbage. My friend down is San Antonio recently opened the cities first CBD boutique store. For $30 one can get 10X the amount of CBD as one day of their treatment, which I believe run upward of $30 a day. Total fucking scam.

Speaking of pharma scams, here is one that promises a new rash of deaths and new depths of narco depravity: Dsuvia. If you liked fentanyl you’re going to LOVE sufentanil. It is 10X more potent than fentanyl, 100X more potent than morphine. Finally! The oxymorphone, the fentanyl, the hydro… just wasn’t getting America strung out fast enough. The reasoning??? People were getting too much IV pain killers like dilaudid/morphine and it was dangerous… So they invented a set dose sublingual pill… wait this isn’t making sense already.

Its cool though. Like most new drugs to hit the marked, government research grants funded by tax payers paid for is inception, so its all profit for AcelRX. In the 90s every kid that was normal had ADD and was prescribed ritalin or ampheds by doctors in grade 3. Six years later the meth epidemic rips though America. Meth was not new, but prescribing it and its relatives to children was. Heroin has been around since forever, oxy comes out and people believed it was somehow less addictive and they “deserve to live pain free”. The result a massive opiate problem. Do we need more heroin analogues and for people to just “Be responsible”? Thats nonsense. Most people are turned onto pain meds at home digging through the med cabinet. Why is my tax money going to fund private companies to bring bullshit meds out of the closet, flood the market with them and 30% of it ends up on the street.

Why is it every day Joe that needs to be responsible and not a billion dollar company or you doctor? I’m not absolving anyone of fault, but what you are saying is like suggesting “murderous gangs are not a problem, people just need to just stop engaging them”. The FDA is there to protect us, Doctors are supposed to protect us from our selves, thats the point of prescriptions.

I know the whole Libretarian bullshit of “oh people just need to pull up the boot straps and be self reliant and responsible”. It is complete nonsense and lacks the fundamental basis of an actual society. Afghanistan is a libertarian wet dream and nobody is beating the door down to get in cause its so great. Truth is people suck and have to have some societal rules, not in the sense of some delusional Petro Chem Pharma State plutocracy with no taxes and where things are good because people are decent. I fully support taxes, in fact we should pay more taxes (wage disparity is much larger problem, tax talk just keeps people from thinking about it).
