So educate me on the benefits of the hack squat machine versus a free weight squat. I can do about double my squat weight on the hack squat machine, and it still doesn’t take it out of me like a regular squat.
Whoa. That is over 100 lbs more than I have ever pushed up, my friend! Serious fucking weight! 335 x 3 was my best about 15 years ago. Skinny arms hold me back, I’m afraid.
Just so we’re on the same sheet of music. The machine where you stand with your back to it feet on a canted platform with shoulder pads. You push up and back at an angle.
I would do drop sets of 12… take a plate off repeat. Only rest was to take a plate off. Vary stance… never wide…narrow to medium. End up doing maybe 5 sets of 12… on good days repeat. Massive pump and strength without the stress of a bar on your back. I would do these after squat training or string together a month of just these. Always did good mornings rdl’s or 45 degree back raise after.
Brother this place keeps me going also ive been struggling because I messed up and have no test levels and without ugmuscle I can promise that a workout wouldn’t be happening for me anymore if it wasn’t for me coming here everyday and seeing that I don’t have an excuse on the planet not to still hit the weight when everyone else here has the ability to continue working out.
Even through injuries the dedication here is amazing
Wish they had regular hack at my gym they got two v squats but that doesn’t hit the same I’ve tried sticking feat out more on smith machine to kind of replicate it. That and pendulum squat would be great. The vsquat is almost like the two mixed together
