Yep… had a guy I worked with get on those diet meal plans. Received them in the mail. The same one those retired nfl guys advertise.

This dude was well over 6 foot and 450 ish…

He would sit in his truck before 2nd shift and eat a whole fried chicken… bring another in for lunch.

He told me one of those meals didn’t fill him up so he had to eat 4 of them. I’m not making this up. Hahaha

Fast forward about 10 years… he retired and I get a text from my oldest daughter. “Dad, I gotta a guy here that says he knows you”. Me… yeah probably…who is he? She sends a pic of him (with his permission). It was that dude. He had lost a couple hundred pounds.

Rest of the story…. My daughter runs a nephrology research facility (I’m very proud of her) and if you’re talking to her then you’re in dire straits with renal health. Usually on the way to death. Dude was on dialysis and all sorts of kidney stuff. He held that weight too long….

I haven’t heard that he died. He would be about 70 now.

Wow
Did he ever regain kidney function?
That’s a hot topic at my house. Wife is a dialysis nurse here in town.

Not sure brother. He very well could be dead for all I know.

Sitting here thinking about it… I would say he’s in his mid 70’s. If he’s still above the dirt.

I’m definitely not talking about weigh watchers or anything like that I’m talking one of the ones that cater to athletes.
4 meals to fill… might have to rethink this lol

I’m not one to tell anyone what they SHOULD do…I’m not that smart.

Maybe experiment around a bit to find a meal combo that you can live with….stuff yoy can eat every day for a long time before you have to switch it up.

Some sort of oatmeal derivative is my goto breakfast.

Peanut butter trail mix is a snack for me.

The game changer for me was measuring the stuff out. For instance…. I used to keep a whole bag of trail mix in my desk at work. I would sit there and eat the whole blasted thing in one day! Now I just take 1/2 cup servings to work. Kind of stupid simple but it works. I drink black coffee and lots of water to fill my gut and stave off hunger cravings.

Same with breakfast… measured out omeal pb and protein powder…just add hot water at work.

I do well on eating the same things for months even years then tweaking it a bit here and there when I burn out. That’s just me and what works for me.

I ate scrambled eggs biscuit and gravy every day for years…diabetes came along… switched to a cold oatmeal dish. One cup a day for about 8 years… now on the omeal pb protein powder for a couple of years.

You can have the roofs! Used not to be afraid of heights but now… extremely cautious.

Failing at my log fellas but I’m still doing the damn thing. Headed to check out this other gym with a hot tub and sauna but running a special right now so if the wife digs it we’re good. Evidently I’m a lil man whore and can’t be trusted alone so there’s that.
Marital bliss at my house … lol

Wife has started taking pictures of me. Trying to have a record of the journey kind of thing. She’s hella supportive. She took this today and asked what I weighed this morning. Told her and she thought I had lost more. I’m now 3 pounds away from 100 pounds lost. Plan is to get under 300, labs, see how I feel and start trying to build. Maybe do a 12 week clean bulk and pack on some lean meat like Dirt did/has/is.
