So I was browsing around the internet as one does, and I spotted a workout plan by Ronnie Coleman. One of the things I noticed was that Ronnie recommended L-arginine supplementation at about 5g per day. Curious, I looked into the supplement. It turns out that L-arginine is considered a light-to-moderately potent vasodilator.
Vasodilators are a class of drugs and chemicals which cause the blood vessels to expand, thereby causing less resistance to blood flow. If this sounds familiar, it is the same class of drugs that are used to treat erectile dysfunction (Viagra, Cialis, etc are all vasodilators).
Anyways, a bit more research revealed that these drugs are prized by bodybuilders for the pump they provide. As an extra bonus side effect of interest to geared bodybuilders in particular, is that it’s capable of lowering blood pressure that might otherwise be raised by the use of anabolic steroids.
This sounds like a big winner to me, especially if one would combine it with other potent blow-you-up drugs like Anadrol – or drugs that are known to have a big effect on blood pressure. Has anyone else tried using vasodilators either as a supplement or as a daily prescription strength pill like Cialis in this way? Could you share your experience?
