What role does STRETCHING play in your life?

Good afternoon friends!:v:t3:

How often do you stretch before a workout?
Do you know how important stretching is for your body?
Previously, I did not betray this, and if you read my last post, then I used to be engaged in fencing and did not understand how important stretching was, this was my least favorite activity. But now that I have matured and I have realized how important stretching is for us.
Stretching helps increase flexibility and prepare the muscles for exercise. It reduces the risk of injury and pain in muscles and joints.

Stretching can help improve circulation to the muscles and reduce tension in them.

Regular stretching can help reduce the risk of joint and muscle related conditions such as arthritis and osteoporosis.

Stretching after a workout can help speed up the recovery process and reduce soreness after exercise.

Do you often get stressed? Maybe because of hard work, or just a bad mood.

Stretching can help reduce stress and improve your mood. It can be part of a relaxation practice that will help you relax and calm down.

Stretching can be beneficial not only for physical health, but also for improving the quality of life. It can help improve posture, relieve tension in the neck and shoulders, and improve spinal flexibility.

It is important to stretch correctly to avoid injury and get the most benefit. Stretch the muscles smoothly and do not overstrain them, avoid sudden movements.

Stretching can be beneficial for people of all ages and fitness levels. It can be adapted to the individual needs and abilities of each person.

How do you feel about stretching and do you do it periodically?

I think you should try this) If you do not stretch before training, a number of negative consequences can occur:

Increased risk of injury. If the muscles are not ready for physical exertion, they can quickly tire and overexert themselves, which can lead to injuries such as muscle strains, tears, or ligament injuries.

Decreased flexibility and mobility. If the muscles are too tight, then this can lead to a decrease in flexibility and mobility, which makes it difficult to perform certain exercises.

Increased pain after exercise. If you don’t stretch before your workout, your muscles will be more prone to congestion and soreness after your workout.

Loss of coordination and balance. Stretching helps improve coordination and balance, which in turn can improve the quality of your workout and reduce your risk of injury.

Deterioration of training results. If the muscles are not ready for physical activity, then you will not be able to reach your full potential and achieve the best results.

Decreased mood and decreased motivation. Soreness after a workout can lead to decreased motivation and mood, which can negatively impact your training program and your goals.

Stretching for a powerlifter before a workout can have several benefits, including improving flexibility and preparing the muscles for exercise. However, depending on the individual, some powerlifters may feel that pre-workout stretching is not necessary or may even be detrimental to their performance. Therefore, the answer to the question of whether a powerlifter needs to stretch before training can be individual for each athlete and depends on his physical fitness and training goals.

Studies show stretching is not good before weight lifting if you feel you need to work on mobility before weight training isn’t the time the to do it. You can stretch after your session or before bed but shoudl jot be done before training if force out put is the goal. You can warm muscles up which is usually done with lighter weights. Or with short cardio session

I need to get better.

I could only get in those positions you have in the pics if I was in a car accident.

I do not stretch before lifting i read in some studies the we learn as toddlers isometric movements or something like that so basically if you stretch out before say squatting you now get more degrees of movement that your body isnt ready to carry weight over. Basically.
I do warm up and i do stretch on off days

I would pay to see @Poppy in those positions tho 😂

All seriousness I stretch for flexibility and my back issues. About it. Trying to get the splits again but one step forward and two steps back it seems.

Back in the late 90s we had everyone trying to be like Flex 😂

Stretching before my muscles are warmed up actually makes me tight. I like to do some elliptical and band work for about twenty minutes or so before I workout. I see the most improvement with getting blood flow to the muscles groups I want to work on. Stretching afterwards will actually help the muscles grow bigger. From what I have read ten minutes of stretching after a workout uses all the muscle fibers in a specific muscle more then the workout which uses most but not necessarily all. Again what I’ve read. I however am like @Poppy a work in progress when it comes to this. @John you make me laugh.
