YES!

Pretty excited I found this forum, and thankful to be part of it. The enhanced fellas at my gym are the typical d-bag ones that I despise, so glad to have a new resource to discuss & learn. I'm pretty new to everything, been on TRT for 3 years, tried a slew of peptides mostly to recover from long term hockey injuries ( herniated lumbar disc & bad rotator cuff ), so probably won't have much insight to offer but have a ton to learn. 40 y/o, 5 young kids (so safety is top priority), 5'8" 195-200...no idea on bf %...maybe 25?

Anyhow, thanks for having me & looking forward to getting to know everyone!

Guess a question while I'm doing my first post- I'm only at 140mg/wk, but bp has been an issue, so went and donated blood for the first time last month...not sure if it helped immediately but bp is down- (lot of other lifestyle changes as well)- how common is it to donate? Couldn't find a straight answer online.

Thanks!

Welcome my man. Very glad to have you here, and I think you will fit in great here. Lots of variety here in age, training, accomplishments, goals etc. and we welcome all kinds.

Therapeutic blood donation is a no go in my opinion. Even in the medical field therapeutic phlebotomy is pretty outdated except in some
Severe cases, and typically only prescribed when RBC’s, HGB, and HCT are critically high. This should never be an attempted fix for BP.

As we Donate habitually our body compensates for the rapid blood loss and usually returns your levels to pre-donation levels pretty quickly. Habitual donation will also TANK your iron. Leading to a whole host of other nasties.

How to fix your BP? Lose weight. 25% is too high, it’s increasing your rate of aromatization which COULD be increasing your BP. But the weight itself is also an issue.

Get your step count way up. 10k a day. Post meal. Multiple small walks a day. AND 30 min of steady state cardio or 15 min HIIT.

in the presence of increase sex hormones your body raises the level of angiotensin II which gives us a whole new world of potential problems.

This is why I push for every single member here to be using Telmisartan. Some
New data suggesting Olmesartan may be more renal protective, but either way. 40-80 mg of Telmisartan is your friend.

Keep making positive changes my friend. Don’t be afraid to ask questions. No one here will belittle you or bully you. Or @Poppy will get his war hammer out.

Welcome aboard.

The fucking wealth of knowledge in this one comment, someone pin this.

Glad to have you. douchery is not tolerated!

Agree 100% with my number one son @Neuro…telmisartan is cheap with insurance and helps a lot. A eod or e3d cialis will help bp also. I use it for a pre workout every other day and my bp stays in check.

Also have lost aprox 40 pounds in the last 8 years or so and that brought my labs pretty much in line.

Chime in with any questions.

Thanks for the welcome notes and the insight fellas..very helpful. A bit of clarification- prior to 2025 nicotine, stress overload owning my own IV bar, 175lbs, micro dose of T, little gym time, poor diet, 5mg amlodipine, avg bp 145/90. Now, 5mg amlodipine, 5 of cialis, citrulline, cut refined carbs and salt by 75%, 15 mins of cardio 5 days a week, some other OTC supps but bp avg 123/78. I realize it's a cumulative effect, but wondering if i should keep donating. and would like to eventually be off the amlodipine. Goal is too maintain190-195, 17-20% bf, not really looking to bulk & cut regularly...at least not yet. 😄

Copy. So sounds like it's not uncommon for most/many enhanced guys to be on some sort of hypertension meds, even if just preventative?
