My youngest has always gone to our home gym with me. She would piddle around and “exercise “ with me. She’s inherited my wife’s little pink boxing gloves and hits the heavy bag.

When she turned 9 last year we made a pinky promise that she would work for one year and get 10 real pushups at 10 years old.

I started her off on my safety pins in my power rack. The setting on my bench press ended up being the right height to start. She could do 3 sets of 3. She learned how to count and good form.

She’s been progressing great, moving the pins lower and lower to the ground. Last week, she did 3 reps at the third to lowest setting. Might have been second. She bumped it up to number 5 and ripped out 10 perfect ones.

I can see her ripping 10 out on the ground in 6 months.

She does some light lat pull downs, YTW’s, body weight squats/step ups. Work on the heavy bag and running around the yard.

Both of my older 2 daughters can fight and shoot extremely well. My oldest granddaughter won the “kids division” of the big buck contest this year. She can shoot too.

That’s dope man. My son does push ups with me as well. He just turned 6 so they’re not perfect but he’s trying.

I’m a firm believer in kids, more often than not, mimic what they see as they grow up and into adulthood.

Mom n dad lay around don’t work smoke cigarettes weed drink….kids think that’s the norm.

Mom n dad get up go to work… do everything mostly right then the children have a better chance of being productive citizens.

Of course this is NOT absolute. I’ve seen it work both ways… but I believe parents should set their children up for success with a basic skill set to “succeed” in this crappy world… when their children are adults, they can make their own choices… good/bad/ugly.
