I never really paid much attention to the banner ads here, as I find them kind of distracting. Since these banners are made to get our attention and help us find the products we are looking for I thought maybe we should speak up and tell our sources what works
For me, I generally dislike the animated banners. If they animate slowly I think it works, but when the flash its just annoying. Rather than drawing my attention, I find myself scrolling past as fast as possible.
As a marketing tool, the animation was new and exciting about a decade ago. Now an overly animated banner just looks cheap and cheesy.
Here is my review of your banners:
PCOM your banner is animated but is slow enough to not annoy. It contains info and is effective. Its probably unreadable on the phone version. You might slow it down a little
MPG-- its a little too fast and your can barely read the words semi stealth even on a laptop
Kodiak- Grrrl’s banner is not animated but the banner on black makes it hard to read the word kodiak. the banner on white, like her website is easier to read.
Pure Gear— looks great
Naps-- cant tell that you are napsgear
Roid Test-- looks great
Crazy Steroids-- too hard to look at, cant read much at all. its annoying
PHD-- good ad, to the point
Bossraw-- another seizure coming on from this one. Reminds me of looking at pornsites before popup blockers were invented
Alpha Omega-- could use your name on the banner-- some wont get the latin symbols
Nandro-- it hurts my eyes to look at that one
Well, I killed a little time this morning-- it was 15 below outside and I didnt want to go to work. haha
