Belt Squats and Ideal Belt

All,

After doing a bit of research and also with the suggestion of @Poppy I pulled the trigger on a belt squat attachment that is designed for my power rack. It attaches to the high cable pulley and the the other end to your belt.

Question is what belt do you all suggest mainly for belt squats?

Leaning to a Spud belt as that seems to have the best reviews. May need to do a little bit of modification to the main unit as it won’t let you start high unless you use a catch chain that you release once in starting position. Of note I have a REP5000 power rack, recently upgraded from a cheap Amazon rack that was just 2x2 but did the trick, just was not something I thought would last long term as my kids are now getting into the garage gym, so getting much more use, let alone a 3x3 post is much more sturdy and does not shake.

As an fyi. I tend to be rough on stuff. Not intentionally tearing it up or anything like that I just use the crap out of stuff for it’s intended use… the spud belt is coming up on a year old of weekly use and has some expected wear but not close to tore up by any means.

Agree I’m the same way so prefer to buy mid (most often) to higher quality stuff to ensure it lasts.

Recently switched to a more powerlifting focused program and think I’m going to have to make some tweaks as my lower back is just not cooperating with traditional deadlifts. Going to try the trap bar and see if that helps. All other lifts went up fast due to the new stimulus and variation. May just do belt squats on the more dedicated deadlift/back day if the trap bar doesn’t work.
