Blast and Cruise vs PCT: When to start/how

Hi guys,

I’ve just been doing some reading on the website and had a question about cruising vs PCT essentially.

So my understanding is that blast and cruising is essentially doing a cycle of high test +/- any other compounds that you decide to use for a set period of time (I’ve seen 8-16 weeks), followed by a maintenance dose of Test (100-200mg per week) for another 16 weeks.

This is different from PCT where you finish your cycle and then wait a time period with no hormones followed by a period of time where you use SERMS (like clomid and nolvadex) to get yourself back to baseline levels.

Is this the correct understanding?

Finally, I’ve been thinking about cruising after this cycle just because my test levels were in the low 300’s both times after pre-cycle testing. Considering that would cruising be a smart plan (in this case it would essentially be unofficial TRT). And what is a good goal Test level while cruising?

Your correct about the definition of blast and cruise except for the cruise can last unlimited time. Its just trt between cycles but once you start blast and cruise you might as well trt or you will be once your done.
So the question is if you are going to do that then you have to be prepared to inj test 2x every week for the rest of your life that’s 2x a wk 52 wks in a yr 20yrs just to make the math easy and that’s 2080 shots and that’s just in 20yrs you will probably live 40 yrs which becomes 4160 shots.

Its a big decision I will need trt now and I wish I didn’t just to be honest with you

Bro I always appreciate your direct and honest approach to answering questions. I agree that it’s a huge decision to make. And when you lay out the math like that it helps put things into perspective for what life will be like.

Always appreciate your comments and to me at least you never come off overly harsh in your adivce.

@Bigmurph was brutally honest and I share the same sentiment. Big decisions to make.

I’m the bad example. Used stuff with little to no regard of any consequences. (Prior to internet). Ended up in my 30’s having to make the decision to be on forever or shutdown forever. It wasn’t called blast cruise back then and i never heard of trt. So i was blast cruise for decades… way more cruise. Been on dr prescribed trt for years now. Bad decisions lead to lifetime of injections…at 60yo now and no end until i give up.

I really appreciate that brother I try to help the best I can and that’s what I did a year ago was that math and I stopped running gear and I was on for basically 2yrs straight.
I now definitely need trt my shit don’t work without viagra or cialis and that’s probably the worst part.
Hopefully I can start soon and get back in range but honestly 300 numbers you can sometimes get to go up naturally. It could have been your diet or even lifestyle or a medication.

I would definitely consult a good doctor about this and be honest with them about everything if they can’t handle the truth then goto another doctor who can listen and then give you a non bias answer about the situation.

Consulting a doctor is a great start. Pct like normal, and then get labs done if your test is low go to a doc and show him your labs and tell him your symptoms and you shouldn’t have a problem getting trt. They may try a few different options before jumping straight to test… but I would encourage honesty and tell them your hobby and you will be taking test anyway.

I wish I had done it before going to travel, now I’m in a new city with new insurance every 13 weeks so I’ll be self cruise for a bit.

I recommend the Book @Poppy is reading, it’s a great insight as to what trt will look like.

If you have low test, being able to control your levels is a beautiful thing.

Like @Bigmurph said, lots of shots over a lifetime. Find a good doc and make an educated decision. I’ve been geared up since my mid 20’s but always worked with a doc so I didn’t actually start TRT till 40. Did proper PCT and was fine

I started TRT at 44 and it was my gateway to AAS. At the point of TRT I was like screw it!! hormones already fudged up and I have all the kids I want so might as well. AAS here we go!!!

I’ve gone thru it once and i am reading again with sticky tabs for reference.

Amazon sells the paper and e version.

Probably the best I’ve read on trt. When the authors have an opinion, they will say so and provide mitigating studies to support it. @futureICUdoc
