Crazy! Shoving it down your throat

I mean, absolutely. That said, I’m a bit concerned this conversation may have revealed my power level

Having a conversation with someone who is walking in the shoes opposite your opinion.
Amen all about perspective and the lens you’re viewing the world through. The planet is a tapestry of a zillion different things. Not necessarily right or wrong… just different.

kids aren’t as developed and obviously no one wants the child to go forward with a decision they may regret later.
I know this… you know this… most know this BUT the professional for profit agitators on both sides are putting out a different narrative…

I think a lot of people tend to see the world in black and white terms. Some might blame the media for this, with their both-sides-isms, and they might not be wrong. But also, I think some people just process things that way – good or bad, up or down, right or wrong, male or female, 1 or 0, us or them. Like, that can be a useful frame if you’re a person looking for definitive answers to everything, like maybe a philosopher or mathematician or engineer or priest or soldier. But the real world exists in shades of grey and there are a lot of decimals between 1 and 0. It’s useful to have definitive answers, but we also have to recognize that the answers may lie in the margins.

There’s lots of gray in the engineering world also. There’s math that will support the theories and “absolutes” BUT I’ve been at my job in all levels from the bottom to the “topish” for about 40 years now and there’s always that “oh crap did you see that… that ain’t supposed to happen” hahahaha

I promise you that most of my in person “discussions”…i will be smiling not smirking but smiling to lighten the mood. There’s evil in this world and it ain’t us.

It would be nice if the ideology you present here was always the case but the problem is it’s not the case. Teanage girls are going and getting hormone treatment given to them by doctors and they don’t always or seldom ever need parents concent. This is reality so please stop pretending it never happens.

Unfortunately they been televising parents who are giving permission to kids for hormone therapy and the kids are preteen. Sorry but this isn’t ok

Parents also let their children get to 400 pounds. It’s shouldn’t be that way but if a kid wants to do it a the parents allow it that’s on them.

Are you referring to birth control when you say teenage girls getting hormone treatment

Nope, they get prescribed testosterone or testosterone blockers under age on the daily. It’s certainly not all rainbows and sunshine.

Is anyone here willing to openly state what someone with an opposing viewpoint can say to change their mind?

No? Didn’t think so.

I’m with @Poppy anyone else know of any good sales for the 4th? I need to buy new tires.

I will also say this… a very big statement.

The plant I retired from had approximately 4k people working there. There’s always been openly gay folks there… men and women. Everyone went about their business. There’s was no ridicule or anything like that to my knowledge… I knew lots and lots of folks there over the decades. The gay men were absolutely no issue. The gay women were another story… not all but a substantial amount to make them a royal pain in the butt. Drama drama drama amongst theirselves… enough to where they disrupted everyone else in their area. It rarely bled over to others but there was always something going on between them… cheating on each other… breaking up etc and they weren’t shy about making scenes. It was kind of entertaining to a point.

A couple years prior to retirement we got our first trans woman. The place had a minor meltdown…the big boss put out a bunch of emails about it. The women were in more of a tizzy than the men. It simmered down quickly.

My take away and life lesson from the situation…

The person dressed terribly for a woman… probably the worst dressed woman in the place and the bar was set low already. Haha

The person ended up being very good at their job… something at desk…I.T. I believe.

Got along with everyone in their office.

Don’t know what bathroom was used… didn’t care.

Wife went on Facebook and showed me pics of the person at home dressed as a man. Good looking guy.

I will say I don’t understand it BUT I don’t have to. That person was just like me and everyone else… trying to make a living among a bunch of folks the best way they know how. They have no bearing on my life and like lots of folks…I didn’t have to interact with them in my day to day duties… so why would I be upset or hate the person.

Fast fwd to now… I’m unaware of anything negative coming from this person working there.
