Look at the ballistics of different rifles based on where you hunt. The big buzz gun now is the 6.5 creedmoore and it shoots flat as fuck like the .26 nosler did a few years ago when it was the buzz gun but the ammo is expensive as fuck!!! I got my son a Browning A bolt in .270 with a Leopoldo scope for his sweet sixteen. And me and my oldest son and my parents all pitched in and it was his birthday and Christmas present combined from all of us cause we are not rich people. But that is how much I love the .270 caliper. You can get it in many different manufacturers like Savage for a lot cheaper and it’s still a great gun just do your homework. Or you can tell me your price range and I’ll try and give you the best bang for your buck!!!

I would go with a Savage Axis II. If you want a good rifle for a good price. My personal opinion. Then you have to try many different types of ammo and see how they group. Then find the sweet ammo that is spot on for your gun. Grouping is so important. Get a good scope and have them bore sight it for you. If they don’t bore sight then they are worthless and move on. Once you get that far let me know.

2020 can officially play hide and go fuck itself! I did want to say thanks to everyone for helping me and answering all my stupid questions on here. It’s great to have so much info and experience on here. Onward to the 2021 gains!

Should be a great gun with scope and all not a terrible price. Just know 6.5 creedmoore is expensive ammo as I said before. However once you find the right ammo for your gun you should only need one round per animal.
