How to find dialed in Test levels?

I’ve been off now for 7 months and had blood work done the other day. Test level was 369 ng/ml. I’m 39, 230lbs. I assume I am on the lower range from my years of steroid use. I want to do my own TRT, dont want to deal with drama of doc offices. What is the optimal level to shoot for where you are putting your body in optimal levels for muscle growth and overall well-being. I’m sure there is no hard or fast rule on this but looking for opinions from experience. I’ve had my levels at 4000 ng/ml+ back in the day which obviously is way above where I need or should be for the long haul. Look forward to your thoughts and opinions. It says average is 350-850 on the lab report but I would think we want to be slightly higher then that? Maybe in the 1000-1500 range? Appreciate any input fellas

Yep the range is a mile wide… you’re still a relatively young man and your levels are low bit still “in range”.

I agree with @NeuroRN go to doc (urologist often prescribes too) and get a script. If you explain the symptoms like fatigue, ed, etc just don’t feel good.

I like mine at ~1000 maybe a bit lower. Too high and I don’t feel good and get bloated.

200@ week is plenty…generally.

I would start around 125mg to 200 mg per week split twice. Monday /Thursday.
On 250mg I personally am at around 2300 range. Which is high for TRT.

Also a TRT clinic would probably prescribe on that low and age you have. All clinics are different and not every doctor has the same opinion on what they think is low or high. Some doctors want you at 800. And some at 1200. And you may find one that says you perfectly in range.
So don’t settle on a first answer if it is not what you like.

Bloodwork. Bloodwork. Bloodwork.

Thanks all, appreciate all the advice…I was open with doc about past usage and he was highly against so I dont really want to deal with it and have a bunch of test on hand from prior. Will try the 200mg a week for now to see where that brings my levels and retest in about 4-6 weeks. Also going to get my estrodiol tested to get the baseline to monitor that also but at a low dose I wouldnt expect any of those issues, I never had any gyno issues at higher doses of 500-750mg a week.

Will probably go to the clinic route down the road, just dont feel like lobbying with multiple docs til I find the right one at this point

I for one understand perfectly. Finding a fwd thinking doc is a pain.

Sounds like you’re not new to the game. Keep us posted.

Keep in the back of your head…if you self medicate and get your t levels are up… it’ll be harder to find anyone that’ll prescribe.

Go to Dr, do it right. Get labs for a year or two, learn some then if you want to play around do it. I fell the same at 650-750 as I do at 1200. Just go with the least you can that makes you feel good or normal.

I was just gonna say this. I have a doc lined up a friend uses for down th road if I ever go trt route. But I second shot at that guys have said if you have insurance go to a doc they should cover a good chunk along with bloods. But I’m guessing if you’re on here asking you’ve made up your mind on getting UGL and doing it yourself. Be safe, low dose 200 is good to start I would say then see where your levels are. Maybe think of adding some HCG to maintain fertility as wel.
