You cant really say someone is the greatest for boxing when each era has its “greatest”. Drugs change, we learn more with science.

People say Arnold was the greatest bodybuilder and thats bullshit. He was the best by those standards when he started. I personally think he had shit for legs MOST the time in comparison to others around that time. But he was the best at self promotion. He hyped himself up all the time, Just like Ali, or Mayweather today. McGregor is another just like them.

They are good, definitely. But cant say the greatest. They dont have a chance to compete against others in other eras. One thing for sure is that the more they promote themselves as the greatest and others follow suit, more people believe it. Its standard PR marketing.

Absolutely bro! Each time era has different circumstances. Ali used the media and press conferences to his advantage back then and also just having great quotes in the paper but there just wasn’t a ton of money being thrown around back then. Then Tyson came along and the purses got a lot bigger due to hbo and ppv. Roy Jones Jr was flashy and really took advantage of the internet in the beginning then kimbo slice took online media to a new level now people like McGregor and Mayweather they all take advantage of of all the different online platforms and endorsement deals all of those guys played the game as well as it could be played for their time period but I will say it would’ve been awesome to see Muhammad Ali in today’s times posting little sayings on Facebook or Instagram pics or going live and talking trash for a few minutes at a time he’s definitely one person that would be extremely exciting in today’s world!
