Hey Guys, wanted to introduce myself. I am fairly new to the forums, trying to learn as much as possible. I’ve been lifting all my life, also done several marathons and generally try to stay in shape. I am now in my early 50’s, and started TRT and maybe looking to do some relatively light cycles. I’ve already had tremendous improvements from focusing on diet, and adding TRT. I can tell you when you hit your 50’s, diet becomes super important also. I’ve been doing Keto and Intermittant Fasting, but trying to balance that with growing strength. This pandemic sucks because of shutting down the gyms! Nice to meet everyone,

Welcome brother, congrats on taking the TRT step, that was life changing for me, and in my 30’s. I imagine the difference you feel is going to be phenomenal.

So, my wife and therefore I too were on the keto diet when I first ventured into TRT and then AAS.
I couldn’t gain muscle for anything. I worked out hard, I ate a ton of protein, but I couldn’t make solid gains. I brought that up on here, and they told me the importance of carbs in building muscle.

So if fat loss is your goal, keto is the way to go. If muscle gains are your goal, you may want to research high protein, modest carb diets.

Good luck brother, and glad you’re here :+1:t2:

Thank you… Yea, I’ve basically achieved my goals in terms of fat loss, and as soon as I can start lifting daily again I will probably ditch the Keto. Since I am in my 50’s I want to be a bit careful not to injure myself but plan to focus on starting to add muscle shortly…
