So I wrote a post June of last year about my hair thinning out and here we are about a year later and it’s still thinning! I can look in the mirror and see my scalp. It’s not bad and a few close friends have noticed it. I went to the doctor and they wrote me a prescription for minoxidil, which I believe is a low-dose blood pressure pill, but they said it could increase vasodilation in my head.
I didn’t start taking it. I know finasteride can cause ED. I assume it’s because of a buildup of DHT. My brother before he passed away he had a thick head of hair and my father who is 84 years old still has a thick head of hair and good hair just runs in the family so I have to chalk it up to being on testosterone for a little over 10 years But mainly I believe DHT has built up when I started taking T4, deca, and increased my dosage of testosterone about 18 months ago because before me doing that, I did not have any issues since then I have went back to my normal dosage of testosterone and I have ran Tren at about 80 mg a week for about 16 weeks. Right now I am on testosterone at about 120 mg. I wanted to lower the dose and see how I felt and may stick with that. I am also looking to switch to enclomiphene. I’ve had a few friends get on that and they were able to bring their natural levels up within mid range and they felt great and had a good sex drive. Is there anything that you guys know of that I can do to get my hair back tick? Hair is a really big deal to me. Especially since I’m still on the search of my kids a step mom! This really bothers me!

Just like the song from “frozen”…. “Let it go”…

At least that’s my opinion. I’m in the same boat. My sister has done extensive research on our bloodline… complete with a bunch of pictures… I am the only one, that we can figure out, that has any type of hair loss. I’m real sure I’m the only one that has ever messed with peds too.

There’s topical products that actually work. But you can’t stop reapplying to your scalp. I tried them some time ago and I did get new hair but being the lazy ass that i am…I quit and poof new hair was gone.

You can get plugs. They take a patch out of the back of your head and replant them in your bald areas. My buddy got it done. It looks ok… he’s got hair.

Do not take finasteride. It’s not worth it. And systemically blocking DHT doesn’t help.

It’s part of the game my friend. There’s nothing you can do. You played the game, and the consequence was hair loss. Sucks, but it’s one of the risks. Hair loss is extremely complex but we do know systemic DHT levels have very little do with hair loss.

I get the “me thing”.

Maybe helpful…maybe not… the older I got the less things like hair on my head mattered.

When you’re the most yoked up dude at your daughter’s functions…I promise your hair is the last thing all those stressed out sex deprived dirty soccer moms will be looking at. That’s from experience…

You would know better than me. Just like anything you get what you pay for haha. Now that I don’t use coke anymore my hair has pretty much been filled back out. I’ll never grow
It long again but I’m older and look good with short hair haha

“I’m older and look good with short hair”

You sure do… you handsome rascal

I haven’t lost too much but my hairline is definitely higher and have a small half ring at the crown showing a bit. For now no one notices if I keep it a bit longer. However, when it is noticeable time to shave it off! As others mentioned if that important then looking into plugs may be best. However, your hairline should never be a discussion when looking for new woman.

I understand your concern completely. My wife, who is 11 years my junior, has always remarked how much she loves the full head of hair I’ve maintained into my late 50s. Given how much she and her affection mean to me, it’s been concerning for the first time to notice some “peaks” and a generally receding line, not to mention a general “thinness” in my hair. I do not have male pattern baldness, and PEDs have never had an impact on me, but the beginning of my hair loss did coincide with commencing Wellbutrin for depression. I bought into the old theory that mast does it to you, and for that reason (because it makes my joints hurt if I take too much), I’ve limited my mast to 25mg ED. And for a while I fooled myself into thinking my hair was coming back, but nada. As @Poppy states, its just something you have to accept unless you are going to go the extreme of getting plugs. If you are still very young and the hair loss dramatically and negatively affects your appearance, go get plugs (in the States, not Turkey), and I suspect you will be very happy. Alternatively, just make up for it in areas you already know well: your body, your personality, and your intelligence.
