I’ve been burning @Neuro up this morning… I’m ecstatic. I got fitted for my new brace and walked out with it.

I’ve had foot drop for most of this year. It’s a neurological thing where as I can’t pick up my left foot…I can’t flex at the ankle and pick up the front of my foot. The 3 smallest toes/outside foot is the worst. If I don’t flex at the hip (think marching) my foot will drag… I’ve fallen bad several times.

The brace is carbon fiber and weighs nothing. It supports my foot in an (at least) neutral position and gives me a spring like natural walking. It can be transferred from shoe to shoe. It goes under the insole if the shoe has one.

I took several laps up and down hallway at the docs office. It was an immediate improvement. I’ve, since, took several laps around the yard (after stupid tele-meeting).

I now have my regular gait/stride back!!! It’s been an immediate improvement on my hips.

I will try training legs with later this week.

Magic legs. Foot drop ruined the career of Ohio states old basketball coach. He had botched back surgery and then that happened making it impossible for him to coach and recruit like he had before

New brace is a game changer. Finally getting to do some real conditioning.

Could you do calves raise with that condition? Does the apparatus change that? I am getting nowhere. Pcp sent me to cardiologist. I have a pimp limp and some variescosity but no answers. Refer to neurology. This looks like a great thing.

I probably can’t do calf raises with the brace.

The carbon fiber piece inside the shoe under your foot gives a pretty good spring when walking but does limit movement up/down/twisting of ankle as well as rolling of ankle.

The specialist said i can do anything I want in it up to and including running… that ain’t gonna happen unless i gotta poop real bad.

I’m working on the siding up and down work platforms this morning. It’s been night and day since last week when I pulled siding down. I can actually move with more urgency and intent without holding onto anything and limping along.
