Protease? Need some knowledge

I saw in one of your post about the enzyme protease and did a little research but it didn’t seem like there was a lot of info that was useful to consuming massive amounts of protein and using it supplementary. Its late and admittedly my research was cursory at best, but it sounds really interesting. Was hoping you could kick some knowledge on how to consume it or where to get it, etc. I’d love to be able to digest protein faster. It seems like carbs are so easy to consume in mass quantities but if I eat a few Oz of solid protein I’m full for a longer time than I’d like to be. Been trying to eat smaller meals more frequently but honestly I’m not getting any more protein than I would eating huge meals and supplementing with shakes and milk. Eating is a huge problem for me, digestion/hunger are a bottle neck for gains.

We think a lot alike jymbo. I am 52 and mainly use steroids to improve and support my active lifestyle but I spent a life cycling on and off to build my physique.

This is the very best protease enzyme supplement I could find for the money. It contains 355K HUT. 20,000 HUT of protease can break down 225g of dairy protein in one hour.

I take mine just like any digestive enzyme. 15-30 minutes before a heavy protein meal.

Here is a crayon version of what protease is-

Please let me know if I can be of anymore help.

Crayon version… LOL! Thats so funny.
I’m a fucking nerd, that’s why I overcompensate with muscles, women and a thuggish lifestyle.
School isn’t a place for smart people… So here we are!

I’m going to order some of that next week, just ate meat loaf and 3 sides of vegetables and feel like an overfed anaconda, lethargic and bloated. I like eating and food, so its sort of irritating when meals become something I must continually force on myself and become an uncomfortable chore instead of a pleasure.
Thanks for the tip, that stuff sounds fantastic.

You might want to consider getting Lipase as well… it is a fat specific digestive enzyme. Both protease and lipase were recommended to me by my ND because of my ketogenic addiction. 😉

@jymbo curious to know about your metabolism. You say it’s hard to eat all your food? A faster metabolism will allow u to eat more food. As I know you know this. Just asking.

So is high quality proteins… If we could increase the potency and absorption efficiency of the proteins that we eat what is that worth?

Is there research that shows that is the required amount to be effective? I know you are all about optimization. Can the same effect be had from a smaller amount?

Genuinely asking because now I’m curious lol and figured you already figured this out.

Enzyme efficiency is not measured in the same way that we are used to. It is not the equality of ingredients that count. Rather, the amount of of food that they can break down or digest. Not all protease can digest all proteins, nor can all lipases digest all fats. So the more protease enzymes that a product contains the more protein it will break down.

Since we consume way more protein than average people it is reasonable to expect that we need a lot more protease enzymes than what is recommended or can be produced by the body.

Let me put this into a shitty analogy… literally…

Consider your gut a septic system. It has a tank, a distribution box, leach lines and a drain field. Each contain enzymes and bacteria that ensure the entire system is doing its part to make the system work. Enzymes and bacteria take a seat somewhere within the system and begin to perform its function. Unfortunately, unlike bacteria, enzymes do not reproduce and are only made available from the things we put in the septic system. Once they perform their function they become in active and are flushed through the remainder of the system. Hindering the amounts of enzymes and bacteria within the system are the foreign things that we put in the system in the form of competing enzymes, bacterias, chemicals, etc. When the balance it tipped in the favor of ineffective septic bacterias and enzymes the septic systems begins to fail to perform its intended purpose which leads to inefficient break down of solids in the tank, slowing distribution from the distribution box, preventing soil absorption throughout the leach line and increasing the output placed in the drain field. In some cases the system fails all together leading to a backup!

I know that is really long winded but damn it was cool to type out.

That actually makes a lot of sense. So basically it is better to get one that has a ton of them since we eat so much more protein than normal and to make sure you cover your bases so it will actually be doing it’s job.

Would it be safe to say If you got one with less, then you could just be wasting your money because you’re consuming too much protein for it to even be helping?

I am not saying that it would be a waste of money because protease does what protease does. My point is that a product with less protease (HUT) will not perform the amount of work than one with more. The more HUT the faster the work will get done… 16 pigs can consume a 200lb man in 8 minutes. How long will it take 4 pigs to do the same work?

Think about pricing the product per HUT since you love math. 😉

@PHD

My metablolism is pretty high, I can eat anything I want and drink as much as I want and a walk around the block burns it all. On one hand its great, getting a 6 pack takes about 2 weeks of situps and reasonably clean eating. The bad thing, its super hard to gain weight. I have to kill it physically all day every day in order to have a normal appetite. For some reason (maybe blood sugar) in the morning I’m really hungry to the point I feel sick, which makes it hard to eat a huge breakfast. So its usually a couple bows of corn flakes and maybe a shake, a meal at break and lunch (10 and 1), then peanuts and soy nuts until dinner around 6, then a second dinner around 8 and a midnight snack.

32 minutes.

This one is half the cost, and has more. But no Bromelain assuming that plays a role? If all it does is help tolerance on an empty stomach I’ll take that cost savings lol

It only has 60 servings. The other is 120. So the price breakdown is .54 cents per serving for one and .56 for the one you referenced.

At what school did you learn that 56 is half of 54?
