Thoughts on my new training schedule

I read that book to my boys when they were young until I had it memorized. That and Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs and of course, Where the Wild Things Are.

Well I would go hard but the problem is that when I do I end up with a hemorrhoid and a anal fissure.
Which I have at the moment so it makes it worse cause I have to go “light”.
But once I get better same thing I start lifting heavy and then boom there it is again. Hemorrhoid.

There’s many things you can do to change intensity without loading up the weight.

Set/rep schemes

Tempo of reps

Supersets

Take a pair of 20 lb dumbbells… light right? Do sets of YTW’s…or curls for sets of 12-16.

Agreed. There are multiple set extenders to increase intensity with increasing weight. Drop sets, rest pause, MTor holds, ect. Just keep modifying until you get it right. And don’t do that everyday either.

I’ve done a lot of different routines including the live off the girl 2 a day with naps after eating. Freaks like freaks is what I learned. Another story. I used to log everything and never looked back or tried to compare notes. I found that the push pull, legs or 3 on 1off and repeat worked the best for size and you can tweak it to hit a lagging bodypart. I never scheduled an off day just would take when needed or even go in and do 3 triple drops x 2 exercises per body part. Something fun or different. Some of those ended up being the best workout. Like giant sets for quads. Leg ext- hacks- squats- 1 leg leg press, 15 reps x 3 cycles.

Been thinking a lot about this. It sounds like you need to work on core strength and breathing. You are probably bracing into your pelvic floor when you lift instead of breathing into your rib cage and bracing that way.

If everytime you go heavy you get a hemorrhoid there’s something out of balance. I personally believe you need to back up and start light weight at the basics. The occasional one after a heavy day is one thing… but after going heavy it’s a guarantee then something isn’t right.

I have an old injury that prevents me from lifting heavy. Lower weight and higher reps aren’t treating me badly ive been happy with my gains on and off cycle training lighter and less injuries moving forward.
