Do you have to, no. It’s just way easier and predictable to measure. That way you can have consistency and be able to make adjustments as needed. Just my personal preference and I like the accurate tracking for performance reasons. Adding a certain amount of carbs pre/post workout. How I respond to x amount of food. Etc
For Christmas, my wife decided to use pop-tarts instead of gingerbread and made pop-tart houses with the kids. We had like 400 freaking pop-tarts at my house covered in candy and frosting. It was a constant struggle not to eat the damn houses.
I thought so too, until I was stuck with 40lbs of pop-tarts tempting me all week. But it did turn out pretty good. I dont really like gingerbread anyway.
