Hey guys just wanna see what some of you are doing for upper chest workouts? I feel like this is a weak spot for me and would love to get some new ideas. I really wanna build that shelf look.
Incline press at different levels. Don’t just use the same angle all the time. I like to start flat then work my way up to a military press. 3 sets flat, 3 sets moderate incline, 3 sets high incline then 3 sets military press with a slight lean back. Also incline flys with a full range of motion, don’t stop short.
Check out Charles Glass, and find his upper chest variations. He has some pretty informative content.
Edit: I’ll see if I can find a couple I really like that has worked for me.
And to add on to @Ironside, another thing to keep in mind with incline flys… drop the weight and refrain from lifting with your ego, focus in feeling your chest expanding on the way down and tightly contracting on the top.
This is exactly what I do I believe in it working very well. I do switch up but this is my favorite routine for upper chest and some upper body I add in a couple more dumbbell exercises to switch up the routine. @Ironside great information
Also look up John meadows on YouTube I’m doing my second program with him and love it. He also like to use a low incline (one notch up). I could go days on different routines that I really like.
Definitely use multiple angles. I has to start doing this because flat bench was bothering a pec I partially tore years ago and I saw very good results when I incorporated this into my chest workouts.
Just an update fellas I tried out a few different angles today on the incline and man what a difference, my upper chest is so full and pumped right now and I’m loving it!
Thanks for the update. It really does make a huge difference man. The slightest angle change can mean the difference in plateaus or growth lol. The body is awesome like that
