So what don you do as a career? Does it affect your training? If you work construction or labor put in an extra rest day? If you work in the office able to train harder?..I myself work in refineries so sometimes I feel my body part is sore and just work out on a different one.but agin I am.42 so notice insed to be…lol

When I was a young man 20’s and 30’s (working labor intensive) It really didn’t effect me too much…as time went on it kind of worked out. I got promoted to half climbing on equipment and half desk so thru my forties it wasn’t so much of an issue… my 50’s i took a bit more rest…now in 60’s (so far) I’ve scaled my training back to age appropriate stuff to avoid injuries and my retirement gig has me flying a computer 100%.

I would recommend adjusting training and taking a bit more rest as required. Your body will give you hints and then scream at you and then shut down.

I’ve worked construction for the last 20 years, a Steamfitter/Welder, the work is very labor intensive, but the only time it really had an effect on my training was when I was working on the road. The last 4 I was a General Foreman for one of the local Industrial contractors, and now the last 6 months I’ve been a welding instructor at our local unions apprenticeship school. The only effect that has on me is my growing waist… damnit I’m fat

I’m a union laborer. Been working on a pipeline since august. Before that I was a union boilermaker for 3 years. Traveling working in coal burners, oil refineries, and nuclear plants taking apart the reactors. But the pipeline def makes training a little harder and can’t put in as much as I want to. I get up at 2:50am go to gym for hour or so. Drive an hour to pipeline. Work 10-12 hour shifts 6 days a week. The first two months was very hard for me. I remember @ poppy telling me don’t burn the candle at both ends or don’t dig myself in the dirt. At the end of the first two months of that schedule. I was so tired I was in my car crying wishing I could take a break. But I stuck with it and got used to it and never gave up and it worked out. Some days suck. But I’m proud of myself for staying dedicated and consistent. Proving I’m a hard worker and I won’t ever give up :pray:t2::muscle:t3:

In the past. Training was what ever we could gin up. Ammo cans. Comm wire. Made a bench out of pallets and dirt. We did what ever we could. Lots of strong man stuff. Pick up big boulders. Farmer carry with Jerry cans etc. last 7 years I’ve been more of a management guy, so it’s no problem. I guess it’s all about what you have and what you want. No matter what, if you are wired to train, you make a effort. Work, family and life revolves around training. I know it sounds backwards. But you’ll do what you have to do. Shit. We trained in full MOPP gear. That’s right there will cut weight off you. 😂. Anyways. If your geared to train, you’ll train no matter what.

I make supplements for companies and it does affect my training As it’s 12 hour shift 7pm to 7am. I can only imagine what I could do if I got sleep. Now if t doesn’t allow me to be flexible
In diet cuase I burn so many calories

Im a farmer if its slow season i will train early b4 work but if we are getting with it i will train with whatever i got left in the tank. The only things that get me messed up is my diet im a hard gainer anyway but when we are busy i only eat once a day.
And im a horrible insomniac if i could sleep and eat well i could get alot further faster

I was an electrician for 20 years up until about November 1st when I became an MEP Inspector. I’m not doing manual labor anymore but for the first time in my adult life I have the same start time every day and a gym around the corner from the site. I’m finally getting into a really good routine. I do miss the labor for my health so I’ve just ramped up my exercise. And as part of this job I walk for about 6 hours of my day all around the site and make sure nobody’s fucking anything up. Also no labor makes my recovery time much faster and I don’t have to work around job related injuries.

I’m a lineman on a pretty shitty system. It very taxing on the body and some days workouts suck do to lack off sleep. But if you don’t go there’s no telling when you will be able to. When I was pumping tren I didn’t sleep so for awhile it worked lol. Healthy wise ill probably hold off from it for these reasons. Any rest with my job must be takin. I cant afford a drug hindering my rest as well.

Yes. It sucked ass. I got to the point as a contractor, just took my shit off. Was “reminded” that I was part of the unit and be held accountable. Which means sent home. 😂. The CO who I knew for a long time as a Marine said “I get it. You’re a civilian. But I have enough on my plate right now without the SgtMaj coming in here busting my balls about “contractors”. Can you help me out and play nice?” I said no problem Wolfie. I got you. Years later I ran into wolfie at Quantico. He’s a 2 star. We just laughed. There’s another funny story I’ll have to write up in Fallujah. Same SgtMaj. Man. Did he hate me. 🤣
