So I got a email in my ProtonMail, it was bullshit, it looked off, and as I read what I could (DID NOT OPEN IT) on the top left under notifications, read what it says, as in who it actually came from… I pride myself in being aware of my surroundings and every aspect in my life, included reading things, stay frosty my friends. Also there is a report option, and they will be blocked quickly if enough people report it.

Yea man this happened to me about a month ago, it was a email supposedly from Proton saying I needed to provide my password in order to receive anymore email. @TG explained to me that if and when Proton staff emails you it will automatically be marked with the little yellow star.

Same with tutanota they actually run that scam on both email providers.

Its so bad with scammers right now I will just say I questioned a gold sponsor about his email being real the other day.
I spend so much time on just verification of the emails I receive if they could just make it where if there is another email handle close you should need to add either a digit or a letter so its completely obvious its a different account handle. Looking for all these little dots and symbols sucks.

Ha ha bothering him like it’s our job, he likes the attention

That’s where I have seen that scam over and over I almost fell for it the first time because the email is exactly the same except it doesn’t have the system star in the subject line or up top.

I only questioned it because of the way that the signature looked it wasn’t perfect so I felt something was wrong and sent it to support and asked if it was them
