What’s up y'all. Name’s benchpress. I’m a big guy by frame—used to be active daily in high school and during my time in the military, but gains were always a brutal grind for me. After getting out, the discipline slipped, and I fell into a nightly habit of whiskey and Cokes (or a couple IPAs). That’s done now. I’m cutting the alcohol completely.
I was always tall and skinny but now I’ve got a classic “dad bod” starting to show—a beer belly and softness around the sides, but underneath it I’m still a solid 6’2” frame. I can’t do situps or anything that puts direct pressure on my lower back because I had a cyst there (no longer present, but I want to avoid aggravating the area if it ever comes back). So I’ll need to work around that.
I’m here to drop the belly, and finally build the physique that always seemed just out of reach. Looking for a solid routine, diet advice, meal prep ideas, info on cycles, and accountability.
