How long will Insulin last

Thanks @TG, remember, this about my cousins cat that gets 1iu 2x a day and goes in only once a month for a glucose check, she pays $200 a month on insulin, and tosses out $150 left over cause it’s expired.
Personally I think it’s bs.
If it was for a human I wouldn’t question it.

Its still good. I’ve used slin expired a year and its always been in fridge and works just like normal. What she can do is draw the syringe and leave it out for a few minutes to cool down to room temp and use it. Just don’t let the whole bottle get to room temp. Even where I’m at here that’s how docs say to use it to avoid a cold injection.

You can buy Nonoln-N at Walmart for $25 a vial. $200 would buy 8 vials. WTF is she doing, going to Kinney’s?

So you can get the same shit for 25$ and she was just paying 200$

That’s just as crazy because why should this be allowed a drug should be this price and that’s the cost to everyone no matter were its bought. SMH

I agree. The pharmaceutical industry is a giant scam. 1 box of Lantus and 1 box of Humalog (5 pens each) cost about $1,200 U.S. in most American pharmacies (with a prescription). That would last me (a type2 Diabetic) about 3 weeks. The same drugs can be bought on a certain bodybuilding Website overseas for $76 total. It’s closer to $200 on another site. Type 1 diabetics are dropping dead all over America (NOT just in 3rd world countries) for lack of money to buy insulin. You see them on GoFundMe all the time. It’s pretty sad.

Oddly enough, Walmart is the hero in al this. They stock “emergency” insulin which is a generic Walmart brand Novolin that people can buy for $25 vial, prescription or not. It can mean the difference between life and death for those who know about it.
😦
