How to make oatmeal milk

So I happened to be watching a show the other day and I have always wondered how they make milk out of oats and soy also almonds and other products.
Here I am thinking that they crush or squeeze them lol
I really had no idea lol

For oatmeal milk it was actually really easy

Take your whole oats not instant or any processed oats use only whole oats.

Take the amount of water that you are supposed to use for that amount of oats to cook

Then mix the water and oats let sit out over night

Next mourning put the oats from the bowl into a blender and blend

Next use cheesecloth or a fine strainer to strain the mixture

The liquid left after straining is your oatmeal milk.

It will have more protein than any other milk except soy and will be free of sugar or additives that are usually added to products like this.
You can use it in coffee instead of cream or milk you can even put it on cereal.

Enjoy a great boost of natural protein without additives or processing

I’ve made oat milk for years when I was a vegetarian and I have to say this is the longest time I’ve ever heard of soaking your oats for oat milk. What you described sounded more like when I made milk with any nuts such as almonds and soak them overnight since they are harder to break down than oats. I find that if you soak oats more than 20-30 mins they become very slimy and difficult to actually make a milk with.

Edit: with all of that being said, one of you guys should make it this way and let me how it turns out. Who knows, it maybe better this way.

How long should the oats be soaked for the best results?
I just learned this and if you have a better way im going with your method over the guy on tv.

Literally the same process you mentioned, just less soaking. I also sometimes add a drop or 2 of vanilla extract for flavor. Also keep in mind it only lasts up to 5 days. I think you’ll find that Oat Milk is extremely cost efficient as well man. Have you ever made any other milks?

The left over pulp is also great for making cookies and stuff like that for anyone with kids.

Honestly no ive bought the other milks but I have never made any of them.
Cost is great with oats for the return that they add to my diet.
Just great all around.
I would like to know how to make other milks. I like the almond milk ive tried.
