I am the greatest --

None of the top guys in the Heavyweight division right now (Deontae Wilder, Anthoy Joshua, Tyson Fury, Big Baby Miller)…none of them can even come close to the skill set and boxing IQ that Ali posesed. IMO not the greatest boxer of all time, although he is hands down the greatest fighter of his generation and the absolute best Heavyweight of all time, he is in my top 3 pound for pound greatest to ever lace them up.

I don’t like to rate fighters in a greatest of “all time” sense I put them or break them down into their respective era’s. It’s simply too hard to say who’s better than who if they never had the chance to face each other or fight in the same era. (With technology development in training over the years, fighters fighting different levels of competition in different era’s etc…so I look at the entire body of work of the boxer over the prime of their career or what they accomplished in the sport throughout their career…all this being said it’s a toss up for
#2) Roberto Duran or 90’s early 2000’s
Roy Jones Jr.
#1) Floyd Mayweather Jr. (Hands down)

Good choices man they were both incredible! Tyson in his prime was a fkn scary ass beast in the gym no one could hang with that dude 👿

Tyson was in a league of his own. Most of his opponents were beat before they got in the ring with him just based off of the fear he struck into guys hearts.

But there are so many great fighters and all time greats through the years it’s damn near impossible to rank them.

When you’re talking all time greats it’s hard to leave out the likes of Marvin Hagler, Tommy Hearns, Sugar Ray Leonard, Felix Trinidad, Oscar Del A Hoya, and the list goes on and on…

At the end of the day they all took a “L”.
Floyd was an absolute monster and was knocking everyone out he faced up until he started having hand problems. He has beat all the greats of his era as well as the era before him and the new up and comers of this generation. From Deigo Corrales, Oscar, Shane Mosley, Arturo Gatti, Canelo, Manny, Cotto, Marcos Madaina, etc… anyone can say what they want about Floyd but the fact remains 49 + McGregor tried and 50 failed, 20+years dominating top level opponents and nobody could ever crack the code. Multiple titles in multiple weight classes from 130-154lbs.

@GlycogenGuy I wouldn’t necessarily call it running as I would boxing, ring generalship, and boxing IQ. Call it running if you will but if all he did was run how come nobody ever just walked him down or walked through him. He obviously had some kind of power in his punches that kept guys from walking him down. It’s a false narrative that’s been created over the years but you can go back to the early days of his career and he was smashing guys then simply evolved his game for longevity and success and became more defensive but still continued to get the job done. The Sweet Science=The name of the game is to hit and not get hit. Just my opinion bro but I respect your opinion and love debating this topic 🥊
